    Cathe- Another question about eating

Look for quinoa in the organic or health food section of your grocery store, rather than with the other rices/grains. That's where I found it at my Safeway. Beth L.

    Ryka shoes

I bought my first pair three months ago, and as I always do with workout/running shoes, buy a half-size larger. They fit quite well considering I have a very narrow foot, and I'm wild about the stability they offer. For me, they don't offer much arch support, so for some of the workouts where...

    No DOMS, no gain?

Hi Cathe, I have made a conscious effort to incorporate more strength training than cardio into my rotations this year to gain more lean muscle mass and a more sculpted look. I have been doing workouts such as GS, S&H, PUB/PLB, Muscle Max, etc. Initially I felt muscle soreness; however, lately...

drill max - as I lay on the floor, looking at the ceiling :-)

I was feeling pretty smug until the squat thrust "train" hit me. The first time I just started laughing and thought "you gotta be kidding." But I'm thrilled to say I got through the entire workout and gave the TV a "take that!" when I finished drilled 6 and put my sticker on my Cathe calendar...

Comparing Muscle Max to Cathe's other weight workouts

I'm a huge fan of Muscle Max and Muscle Endurance for exactly the reasons HTH indicates. If you don't have them, you'll want them! Beth

    Weighted gloves on calendar cover?

I've posted this question before but got the impression people just taped their hands for kickboxing. The gloves you're wearing in your calendar cover, Cathe, looked weighted, which is what I'm looking for for kickbox workouts. Are they? and if so, do you know where I can get them? Thanks! Beth

Workout first thing in the morning.... what about breakfast????

I'm with you Shelbygirl. I work out at 5 a.m. and couldn't eat even a banana and then immediately work out. I confess on weekends when I have time for my oatmeal and maybe a half hour before I work out, it's great. But it is definitely not practical for me to do during the week - unfortunately...

    Downloadable Stickers!! Thanks!!!

Thank you so much for the sticker template Cathe!!! I know you could have made them available only by buying them pre-printed from you, but in true Cathe form, you made sure we had the tools to keep us motivated and successful at our fingertips, and I sincerely appreciate it. Beth

Workout first thing in the morning.... what about breakfast????

Like you ladies, I, too, workout first thing in the morning during the week (5 a.m.), and always on an empty stomach. On the weekends, I generally have a banana and a cup of decaf coffee first, but either way, I am able to keep pace with whatever Cathe throws my way, including the 90-minute...

    New to Cathe Workouts

I agree that Low Impact Step is an excellent starter workout. Cardio & Weights is really a ton of fun. My sister had difficulty with the steps initially, too, so she took off all the risers and just used the platform and 5 lb. weights throughout until one day everything just clicked. Embrace the...

2 questions: Sea sickness & BC Pills

I, too, have taken back-to-back pill packs and had no problem - and had my doctor's approval to do so. I am a scuba diver and use dramamine on occasion, but boy, does it make me sleepy! On our last dive trip many of the divers talked about natural/herbal remedies for sea sickness with which they...

Good resource for learning kick box techniques?

Thanks for the Kick Max suggestion. I never thought I would enjoy the martial arts workouts but I have to say KPC was a blast, so I'll look into that. Anyboy have any idea where to get the gloves Cathe is wearing in the upclose pic of the 4-day split kickboxing workout? Beth L.

Good resource for learning kick box techniques?

Hi all, I'm enjoying KPC much more than I ever thought I would, but I want my kicks to look like Jai's, and that ain't happening. Does anyone know a good resource for breaking down the kicks so I can figure out how to do them properly? Needless to say I need more flexibility as well, but...
