    Am I a sentimental crackpot?

Donna, My first new car was a 1986 Civic and I loved it! We had to sell when we were in grad school, could only afford one car and had 3 babies. I couldn't fit the car seats in the Civic so we kept my DH's bigger car. So now that one of those babies is 16 and we needed a car for her I...

    Protein: whey vs. soy

Lorrie, I am prone to bloat with some foods but not soy. But I don't drink the shakes. I add the powder to my oatmeal. I haven't tried whey because the soy has worked out. I like to wait until I'm really tired of something that is working before I make adjustments. Happy sampling, Paula

what i hate about doing legs

Jes, I am so glad you posted this: I never made the connection between working my legs and hunger! I always thought extra cardio would increase my hunger, but it's the legs!! Armed with that knowledge (terrible pun!) I can make dietary adjustments. I wonder how freestyle affects this?? Paula

Are Circuit Workouts As Effective As Interval Workouts....

    CARBS

Ditto Jane's response for me except that I just started a couple days ago and have not weighed myself yet. I'm pretty happy where I'm at but would like to rid myself of some overlying jiggle on the outer thighs and tush (the back of beyond!). I can tell you that I feel so very good already. I...

    losing weight

Luis, You should print and reread Aquajock's post every day because she hit the nail on the head. At your age, you are forming habits for life and a mind set towards health and fitness must be established. Any other goal will make you subject to too many ups and downs. Remember what you...

    Cute DD loves raspberries!

Robin, You keep sharing those sweet stories! Sounds like you should read that oldie but goodie "Blueberries for Sal" to your DD since she already understands the bliss of getting lost in the good taste of berries!

"Home trippers"! (those not going on road trip)

RE: Kathryn, Clever, clever, clever! I can't do the road trip because of a prescheduled vacation and that takes the sting off a bit. But I may try to modify your schedule while I'm travelling. Doubt I could fit my step on the airplane unless I upgrade to 1st class!

    No Wheat, Feeling Great!

Sparrow, This is interesting because there has been an increase in the diagnosing of celiac disease recently. diabetics are more likely to have eliac and there is an increase in that too. I think people with celiec must avoid all gluten. You may want to talk to a physician about this because...

    Question about circuit workouts

Good Morning! I know there are some circuit rotations at the rotations link and have used them that way. But I also use them the way you described: in a heavy weights rotation but going easy on the body part I did the day before. They help me get back in the swing of things after I've had...

I'm Having an Identity Crisis (long)

Missy, You've received some great replies. it's obvious we totally understand how you feel from experience! That frustation of being "something to everyone" yet isolated and (for lack of a better word ) STUCK can help motivate a good work out. I eat clean (mostly) and work out good and tough...

    My Cups Runneth Over

A-Jock, Welcome to 44 and perimenopause. I've been in this brave new world for a few months myself and will spare all the details, but I will say that the mammary news doesn't get any better. You never know what they're going to do during any given week. I have bras and tops to suit whatever...

    CTX series

Elaine, I love CTX too. It's a good ready-made rotation for getting your groove back. I am going to be away for 2 weeks pretty soon and I know that I will miss my regular workouts (though I will do some workouts while gone) and I will use a week of CTX upon return to reset my Cathe clock! I'm...

    Stretch max

I like it because I am in need of more flexibility. Moreso, on days that I know I need to take a rest, especially when I'm using a tough rotation, I can use SM and feel like I am still "doing something." I am terrible at Yoga and so-so at Pilates, so SM is good for me.

    Daughter is trying Cathe YAY!!!!

Jane, Great news! My two daughters love Cathe too and we have to schedule our time on the equipment around each other! My DS and DH keep a very respectful distance at this point, but maybe they'll get on board too. In the meantime, it's fun to be a 2 generation Cathe family. Welcome on board...

    Escape Your Shape??

You know I found the questions limiting too. But I am prone to the spoon thing. It should have raised more of my suspicions from the start. Thanks,

    Escape Your Shape??

Emily, Thank you! I had never heard of this and it just seemed designed to attract as much attention as possible for a quick dollar. But I had to run it by this crowd which is seriously the most focused and informed out there! I'm going to do an IMAX just to celebrate! Thanks,
