    Healthy Supplements - weight gain?feedback?

I've read several times that creatine can cause some bloating, as it helps the muscles retain water to give them that "pumped up" appearance. Also, I believe flaxseed can be fairly high in fat or calories, and it you're using a lot of it, you may be adding more calories to your diet than what...

Cathe, question re: circuit training if you can make a wee break from filming...

Here's another plea for Cathe to answer this one! I also love circuit workouts, and my body responds well to them, but I'd like to know the "science" behind them!

    4ds kickbox

I don't like Kick Max much either. The blast portion is great - super high intensity, about 15-20 minutes long. The actual kickboxing drills are very low intensity - I did it again the other day, after lifting weights, and barely broke a sweat until the last combination, and I really had to...

Need something new and fun for a workout

Kettlebells, kettlebells, kettlebells!!! And, did I mention kettlebells? I started using them almost a year ago, and they are truly amazing. True metabolic conditioning, and I've seen great changes in my body composition. They are also fun, and I have yet to experience the dread factor. I would...

    Anybody read Brink's Bodybuilding Revealed?

I've never read that one, but I recently finished Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, and it's an awesome read! Answers so many questions about what to eat, when to eat it, lifting, cardio... I highly recommend it. I believe it's only available as an e-book on Tom Venuto's site.

Why am I not having great results?

Gotta agree with the others-you can't outwork a bad diet. Also, are you incorporating cardio with STS? Cardio is the third piece of the body improvement puzzle. If you're doing STS 3 days/week, try doing HIIT cardio 2 days, and then 2 days of moderate intensity cardio. I think if you get all...

Did Mes 3 Week 3, Chest, Tris (Disc 19?) this AM..

I'm so glad to see a post about meso 3! I could only afford one at this time, and I just ordered meso 3 yesterday. I've always lifted using a meso 2-type system - three sets, 8-12 reps...But I know I need to change things up a bit, that's why I decided on meso 3 (and for the plyo legs). I'd...

    Another Which One Question

I know there have been several questions of this type posted, but I would really appreciate some feedback from those who have done and/or looked at meso 2 and 3. I would love to buy the entire STS package, but can seriously only afford one right now (and in the near future). My goal right now is...

    HITTING THE WALL ALREADY....comments please!!

In reply to your question about continuing your present workout, I would make sure you get at least 3 days per week of lifting (STS should take care of that). Also, cardio is equally important for you right now, so try and get a minimum of 3 days cardio in.

Has anyone discovered any new gems in their skincare regime?

What brand of microdermabrasion do you all use? I'm using the Olay Regenerist Cream, and so far haven't noticed any difference, which kind of bums me out. How long do you think it should take to see results?

Metabolic Resistance Training - hype or truth?

I started doing what's considered metabolic training about a year ago. I do heavy weight complexes, and also kettlebells. I absolutely love it, and find that my body responds well to this type of workout. I still do isolation movements for specific areas, and usually do them after the complex...

    The Biggest Loser (in progress)

I'm starting to think Helen is a snake! She should have gone home, but she managed to get her daughter sent home instead. When the mom left last night it showed what a "real mom" would do for her daughter. Helen seems to really ham it up for the camera too. I doubt she really believed she would...

    BM2 Intensity

Thanks, guys! I already have Drill Max and love it. Sounds like BM2 is worth the $$. I'm not a huge fan of step anymore (not the traditional choreographed type) but if the format of BM2 is more athletic I think I'd like it.

    30lb Kettlebell

I found a 30lb kettlebell at Sports Authority. It must be their own brand, because it's not a GoFit. I really like the handle, as it's not as wide as my GoFit and is more comfortable for my small hands.

    HITTING THE WALL ALREADY....comments please!!

Diet is everything!! Not that 38 is old, but as we age, we simply cannot eat like when we were younger. Every calorie counts, and it's not just the amount, it's the quality as well. I highly recommned Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet book. (It's not really a diet, so don't let the title scare you...

    BM2 Intensity

I'm thinking about ordering BM2 and would like some feedback about the intensity. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being gasping for air, begging for it to stop) how would you rate the intensity of the blasts? Also, with the weight exercises, how hard are they? Heavy, light, or moderate weight? Compared...

Doing my Very 1st Spin Class This Week - Pointers?

Well, you might have a very sore butt or crotch. If it starts to get painful, just wrap a towel around your seat - that would help somewhat. Some gyms have seats you can use during the class. Don't let that soreness keep you from going back. Eventually your butt and other areas become accustomed...

Doing my Very 1st Spin Class This Week - Pointers?

I'm a spiinning instructor, and all the advice given is excellent! I would add that it's not a good idea to wear padded shorts AND use a padded seat. Too much padding tends to cause too much friction in certain areas! Also, having the bike adjusted properly is essential - there should be a...

adding muscle and increase clothing size

I'd go with the calipers, as most body fat scales are useless and inaccurate. I think it's important to know whether it's muscle or fat, otherwise you might keep doing something that isn't effective for your goals. Most gyms or health clubs offer body fat testing for a small fee ($10-$15).

    Help! The 40's have struck!

I've used Renova (Retin-A) for a couple of years, and it really doesn't do much for the deeper lines around the mouth, or any other existing wrinkles. My dermo said it's more preventative, to help stop future wrinkles. I've just started using Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream, and while I...
