    Slimming thighs?

Do you notice a difference in how your thighs actually look? I know they measure bigger, but do you see more muscle, are they more defined? If you had any cellulite, has it diminished? If you answer yes to these questions, I would say that you've lost some fat and gained some muscle in that area.

Cathe- areas of concern vs. maintenance?

Morningstar, I love your post, and hope that Cathe answers it! I think so often we see fit women in magazines, etc. and aspire to be like them. I've read that when we see these women, they are at their very best "dieted-down" self, not the way they are normally. It would be reassuring to know...

    Kettlebells for Cardio?

Hi Carol, I love kettlebells, and do them for cardio quite often! I'm not currently doing STS, so can't help you on the pull-down issue, but I do think you are on the right track about using lighter bells. This will allow you to move at a quicker pace. I have noticed that even when I use...

    squat rack legs

Has anyone previewed the squat rack exercises yet? I'm curious if they're traditional squats, deadlifts, etc., or if they have an "interesting twist" like so many of the STS exercises.

    Need Opinion from Fitnessfreak

That's the first thing I thought of too, but at my gyno appt. last month they checked my hormone levels, and no menopause yet. I've always been irregular, and have gone a few months without, but haven't experienced anything other than the 2-3 lb. gain that goes away after a few days.

    Need Opinion from Fitnessfreak

I'm 47, and it's not TTOM. In fact, it hasn't been TTOM for about 3 mos.

    Need Opinion from Fitnessfreak

I'm not worried about weighing 110 lbs. What had me worried is the sudden 5 lb. gain. I weighed myself on the same scale, same time of day, naked...And yes, the weight is still there. Like I said, if I knew it was muscle, I'd be thrilled. But, even though I don't weigh a lot for my height...

    What is next?

I gotta cast my vote for a non-step workout. After years of teaching too many step classes, my body says nope. I would love more boot camp - plyo, body weight killer moves... MMA would be good also.

    Need Opinion from Fitnessfreak

I've just been reading your posts, and was impressed with the advice you give. I would appreciate your opinion on my current situation. I'm 5'7", supposedly an ecto-endomorph, 47 years old. For the past 2 years I have weighed around 105-107. I know - too low for my height, but I eat very well...

Fasted cardio and daily weights - does it work?

Hi Lora-Kate1, I do most of my workouts fasted. I get up at 4:30 a.m. and workout for an hour before getting ready for work. I'm a teacher, and if I wait until after school to workout, sometimes it just doesn't happen. And, I'm a much nicer teacher after I've had my daily workout. :) I do...

    Plate Exercise ?

Hey Elena, I'm 5ft. 7 in. tall, and I don't feel much either doing the plates. I try to go as low as I can, but I still don't "feel the burn." I hope Cathe replies to your post so we can see what we're missing!

At home body fat % tracking

Hi Cendrine, I just placed my order for the accu-measure calipers. I agree with you that even if the number isn't 100% accurate (and what number is) it's a quick way to show a trend. And, since I"ll be measuring myself I can be certain that it's consistent. That's the biggest problem I have...

    My Mesocycle 2 Preview Review!!!!

Thanks for the review! You're awesome to take the time to watch and tell. I can't wait for your review of meso 3 - I think that's the one I probably need the most, as I LIKE to do more of the meso 1 type workout. Can't wait for you to preview the plyo legs vs. the squat rack exercises. What are...

    Kettlebells

Santa Monica is hard, especially if you go as heavy as possible. Also try Steve Cotter - he has a four disc series that has some butt-kicking circuits. Extreme Cardio Kettlebell with Keith Weber is also kind of brutal, especially if you do the whole thing.

    Kettlebells

One more thing - on the heavy swings, try using two kbs. If you don't have two of the same weight, alternate which hand hold the heavier bell each round. Instead of a palms back hand position, turn your palms in (hammer curl position). That makes it easier to swing 2 bells through your legs.

    Kettlebells

Amy, I had the same thought as Gayle - are you going ATG (#&&*# to the grass) on your squats? Also, most of the workouts you mentioned are really well balanced between upper and lower body. You could try doing a couple of lower body only workouts. Here's a good one: 10 heavy swings 1 flip...

    *Another* STS Preview Review

I've been waiting for one of the squat rack leg routines to appear on a youtube clip. I think I need (want) a rack, but need some justification. Can you give me an idea of what the routine is like?

Just Did STS Disc #26--Plyo Legs #1

Good job!! I'm curious about something. The workout you just described sounds like one of the preview clips on youtube. On the clip it looks like they do one set of squats, sit n stands... then a plyo move. How many sets of the weighted moves do you actually do? Just wondering how much pain...
