    STS Users: Is STS repetitive?

I agree with the others. Meso 1 and 2 were definitely not repetitive! Meso 3 was, and I would have liked to see some different exercised thrown in, but true strength workouts are repetitive anyway. The plyo legs was fabulous, and I use it all the time.

Kelly Coffey Meyer new website and new dvd info!

I've never done any of her workouts before. Can you guys give me an idea of what kind of intensity I can expect? Like, how does she compare to Cathe? The Cardio Blast sounds like what I'm looking for, but without previewing it, I'm a little nervous about ordering.

    HIIT vs. SSC

I attended a personal training seminar session on HIIT. True HIIT is working at a level where you can't sustain it longer than 20-30 seconds max (not even 31 seconds) and where 20 minutes is about as long as you can physically do it. It sounds like morningstar is doing high intensity interval...

    Shaun T. INSANITY...Dripping in Sweat

Do you have to be a member of something to get the sample workout? If so, sign me up! I just wondered if it was available somewhere for the general public to purchase.

Anyone successfully blending KBs and STS?

I did kettlebells throughout STS. I did it on the off days, and considered it metabolic energy system work. Worked great!

    Less DOMS in meso 3?

I love those plyo workouts!! Each time I try to use heavier weight. I even do a couple of them back-to-back (plyo sections only) and use them for cardio. I started out not liking meso 3 much, but I ended up liking it a lot. Going heavy enough made all the difference. Now that I've done it as...

    Less DOMS in meso 3?

I never did have DOMS with meso 3, even though I went really heavy.

    Cathe: HIIT vs IMAX Question

When I was at a personal training seminar, one of the presenters gave a talk on HIIT. He said that many people confuse intervals with HIIT. Intervals involve alternating an intense work phase with less intense recovery phases. HIIT also alternates intense work phases with recovery phases, but...

    STS stalling weight loss?

Here's an interesting article on that subject. http://figureathlete.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/figure_competition/can_you_build_muscle_and_lose_fat_simultaneously Don't know if this will work as a link, if not, copy and paste it into your browser.

    Water weight

It may sound weird, but to lose water weight, drink more water! When you are dehydrated your body holds onto whatever water it can, which can mean additional pounds on the scale. Also, if your diet contains a lot of sodium, that can make you retain more water. It's hard to tell from the...

    Pyramid Up vs. Pyramid Down

Lisa, I definitely agree about the men's magazines having better info. than the women's. I get really tired of the fashion and makeup sections. If I wanted to read about that stuff, I'd buy Cosmo! I also get irritated at the exercise programs they offer, and at the fact the models...

    Loreal Lash Extend is awesome!

Another good one is Lash Stilletto (sp?). I think it's Maybelline brand. I wear contacts and haven't had any problems.

A rare (for me) non-Cathe post

I've got to have this one! I'm ordering as soon as it's available.

    saddle bag area, YUK!!!

I would suggest cardio at least 5 days per week; 2 days of HIIT involving running and jump rope, and 3 days of moderate to high intensity, i.e. IMAX-type workouts, kettlebells, bootcamp... Also, weighted step-ups, straight leg deadlifts, regular deadlifts. Go as heavy as you can for 8-10 reps...

    front squats

Front squats do target the quads a little more, but if you focus on really sitting back into your heels, they can also target the glutes and hams equally well. Holding the weight in front helps aleviate some of the stress on the vertabrae and back muscles that happen when you put a heavy bar on...

    Body Fat Scale

I don't have the latest and greatest, probably because the first couple I bought were anything but that! There are so many variables that can affect the scale readings as far as bodyfat %, I don't think any of them are worth the price (or the frustration when the numbers stink). I would...

If you own a Boxer dog..??

I have a boxer who will be 11 this summer. She has arthritis in her spine and one of her hind legs, but it hasn't bothered her much until recently. For the past couple of months she's been hopping around on 3 legs, and is terribly stiff after laying down for awhile. She takes Rimadyl, and the...

STS meso 3 Legs Plyo OR squats? Why not both?

I used both also, and it worked great! I also used the plyo workouts for cardio some days. If it works for you, do it - there really isn't a right or wrong way, IMO.

    Creeping weight gain :( wah ! ...suggestions/support?!

Muscles do retain water when you work them hard, so if you weigh the day after a heavy weight workout, that could account for some of the gain. However, it usually takes women quite a long time to gain pounds of muscle, and 3.5 pounds of pure muscle would be quite a feat. I'm not saying that...

    Questions about Meso 3

I'm doing both versions - squat rack and plyo. I have 2 leg days per week, and it's working wonderfully!! The plyo workout is definitely a como of strength and cardio all rolled into one sweaty ball.
