We need more lunges in Power Hour

I laughed just reading the title of this thread and HAD to open it up - and laughed even more at S & M! The lunges are annihilating - I can't figure out why they are so much harder than in any other Cathe video. I am particularly distressed after the dumbell lunges - after the TWO seven count...

cathe's help for a personel rotation please.

Denice, see if you can get on Kathy S's mailing list, she just sent out a ton of rotations to people. I'm pretty sure she has Cynthia828's Cathe/Firm rotation among them. Cathe has written many, many rotations but as the forum has gotten busier, I notice she is more likely to answer specific...

Newbie here: $$ Initial investment estimate?

Lorna LAST EDITED ON Aug-20-01 AT 10:41AM (Est)[p]Hi Lorna, yes I am the same one who posts at T-Tapp too - I have really enjoyed incorporating it into my routine. Since I'm here, I'll describe my equipment: Dumbells: 3,5,8,10,12,15 lbs (I started out with 3,5,10) Adjustable dumbells: one set...

Newbie here: $$ Initial investment estimate?

Lorna - just about every tape Cathe puts out has excellent form tips - however, as you mentioned that you are new to lifting weights, S&H would be considered to have advanced techniques. Cathe's instruction and workouts are superb, though, and I agree with others that MIS might be a better one...

    Rhythmic Step intensity?

RE: In the Middle I want to add - the slightly lower intensity is a real PLUS for me. There are definately days when I want to do Cathe cardio but just don't have the jam to do something really intense, and just can't face power 7's or what-have-you. Rhythmic Step is just so, so, so fun, the...

    Rhythmic Step intensity?

I did the first two combos yesterday and the full tape today...my first impression is that it is a little lower intensity than Power Max. I think once I learn the moves better it will probably be about as intense as Step Fit - right now I'm leaving out some of the lifts and jumps till I get the...

    T-Tapp

RE: Sophie Cinza - sorry! I went out of town for a bit... I see you started a thread at VF and I answered you there...if you need to know more give a shout. Cheers, Sophie

    T-Tapp

RE: BUT Cinza, yes, it is relatively expensive. I probably would never have tried it if I had not got my tapes in a trade. As far as the locked joints, for instance - you make good comparisons to pilates and yoga - lots of stuff there that seems to be contraindicated by the fitness industry...

    T-Tapp

Hi guys...haven't posted on this forum for a while, but I do T-Tapp. I add it on to other stuff though and haven't given up lifting weights. As the blurb says, I do think you *could* give up weights if you were looking for a "dancer's body" but since I'm looking for more of a "landscaper's body"...

    TO SNM -- Rotations Forum?

I think it would be okay Of course, it would be up to SNM and Cathe to make the final decision, but I would think that it would be acceptable to add non-Cathe activities in our rotations on the forum. In fact, I've seen numerous instances where Cathe has written rotations for people that HAVE...

    More re: Rotations Document

Hi Kathy, just wanted to thank you for the putting together the rotations and send them out - what a lot of work you've put into it! I really appreciate it...if I run into or use any other rotation that might be useful, I'll try to pass it onto you for the second edition :D Do you think Cathe...

Cathe is this music in one of your video's?

LAST EDITED ON Apr-18-01 AT 08:49PM (Est)[p]That's a hoot, Natalie! It does sound like a MIDI-fied version of something on CTX, doesn't it! Almost made me go and grab my barbell! :-jumpy Sophie

    A Rotations Offer

LAST EDITED ON Apr-18-01 AT 11:48AM (Est)[p]You are going to be a hero! Thank you for such a great offer. I have quite a few rotations printed out, but I wish I had saved them in an electronic copy. Your work is going to help a lot of people out. Thanks again :jumpy Sophie PS. duh! I'm at work...

    New Video/DVD Cast

Me too! I would LOVE to see Cedie in a new video. She really inspires me in the ones that she's in. Wonder if there is any chance of that, or if she's too busy with family? Sophie

    how often?

Hi Chelle, if you do a search using "PS" or "rotations" or other keywords, you will likely turn up quite a few workout schedules incorporating the PS series, one of which you will probably be able to adapt to your needs. I just finished up a PS rotation using each tape once a week, and added...

    Don't hate me...

another thing... oops, just re-read your message about quick meals (I work outside the home and have a 2 and 4 year old - quick meals are my life!) I often have omelletes or fritattas for dinner - I use egg substitute, but if you're looking for extra calories use the whole egg. Add beans, fish...

    Don't hate me...

How about incorporating some nutritious fats? Maybe carry around a handful of raw almonds in a baggie to snack on, or indulge in some avocado on a sandwich, that sort of thing. You could also make your own trail mix with plenty of nuts, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, some chocolate pieces too if...

High reps versus low rep rotations

Hey lora-kate... don't think that your questions are unpopular, sometimes it's just that no-one knows the answer, or, that the answer is "it depends". I have those tapes you mentioned (except bodypump) and have done something similar to what you did: started with the MIS total body workouts a...

PS question - wrong body parts have DOMS?

Thanks so much for replying, Jane and Cathe. I just needed reassurance that I wasn't doing something potentially injurious (is that a word) and that I could continue as planned. I would have found it hard to believe that I could actually be using wrong form, with all the form pointers...
