    sweat=heart rate=calories burned??

Anyone have any info or opinions on how the "sweat factor" relates to heart rate and, ultimately, calories burned? Is it true that the sweatiest workouts mean a higher heart rate (obviously working harder) which means you are burning more calories? This probably sounds like a dumb question...

    breast implants

Beth, Check out www.implantinfo.com - seems like a wealth of information there and a forum where many personal experiences are shared. I have often thought of doing this, too - I have practically no breast tissue left after breastfeeding for more than 4 years combined! But I am so terrified...

which dvd has highest sweat, intense, & heart pounding factor?????

I sweat buckets with just about any workout, but for intensity, I'd have to say IMAX2 and the Terminator workouts. The sweatiest of all for me, though, is Tae Bo advanced... Kerrie

    O/T--growing hair long

I don't know for sure, but I wonder if it's a genetic thing. I bet nutrition, hormones, etc. have a lot to do with it, too. I've heard there is a special vitamin formula you can buy just for hair...my mother in law takes them and swears by them. Kerrie

Bird's Nest In Wreath On Front Door

We had the same thing happen to us, except ours was in a basket hanging on our front door. I kept the nest there because the birds had babies (so cute!) and I thought they would be safer in there. But I felt bad because every time we opened the door, the parent birds would fly off! Eventually...

    favorite Cathe moment...

The thread about how you behave during a Cathe workout reminded me how much I enoyed Cathe's personality when I first discovered her workouts (compared to so many other fitness "gurus" who seem so robotic!) Yes, those evil little laughs during biceps, and especially those ice breakers in Boot...

Tell me how hard is Bootcamp?

Boot camp was the first Cathe workout I tried and I was immediately hooked! It is tough, but definitely do-able! Some of the 8 cycles are harder than others, but like Cathe says, "you can do anything for a minute!" I love the variety of non-step interval aerobics. Kerrie

How did you get to visit this forum?

I found Cathe on Fit TV last summer when I was looking for a boot camp type workout - and found Boot Camp! Loved it the minute I tried it, and the rest was history! I'm not a big forum person, but I really love reading the posts here and feel like I've learned more about fitness here in the...

    difficulty after rest?

Hey, Kit, I reread your post and saw that you did give me specific suggestions for a second rest week - sorry I missed it the first time. I understand it to mean that do what I normally do, but work at about 50% of my normal capacity to begin with and slowly work my way back, correct? Thanks...

    difficulty after rest?

Wow. I didn't realize how serious this could be - I'm so glad I posted! Thanks for all your replies. Just to clarify, I did take 3 rest days during that 18 day rotation, and have been a consistent exerciser for more than 12 years. But, yes, it appears I was definitely overtraining! Also, I...

    difficulty after rest?

Hi everyone! Has this happened to anyone else? After a particularly tough rotation (consisting of 1 hr cardio and 1 hr strength on most days for 18 days) I took the advice from this forum and planned on a rest week. I was going to ski, but ended up being cabin bound due to a blizzard with...

    opinions on this "rotation?"

Hi everyone ~ I never used to think much about my workouts in terms of rotations - just kind of did what I felt like, but tried to make sure I had a mix of cardio and strength (not understanding the difference between endurance, circuit, intervals, etc) Since joining the forum and learning...

How many risers do you use on the regular step workouts?

    >I used to use 2 sets of risers but then started using 1 when >I saw Cathe posted about getting a good workout with just 1 >set. Except for Lowmax, I only use 1 now. I feel more "dancy" >that way & have more fun! > > >Marla When this thread came up, I searched for a thread/response...

    $50 bday money - Imax 2/Cardio & Weights good?

I'm definitely in the minority here, it seems, so I thought I'd post just to give you another opinion... IMAX2 is one of my favorite Cathe workouts by far - I love it, love it, love it. Fun and extremely challenging. C&W is one of my least favorites! Maybe I haven't given it enough of a...
