Which Cathe Dvds did you first dislike, BUT then LOVED?

It's a lot of fun (and very informative) to read through everyone's responses! thanks! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has done a 180 on some "not so liked" workouts! :) Now, if only I could change my opinion of Gym Style Legs. LOL *not giving up totally, though!*

What can I use to sub for Gym Style Legs? (problems!)

I have PLB, but I haven't viewed it yet. Thanks for the info on it. I think it sounds as though Leaner Legs is the one I should try next (I have it in vhs). As for Gym Style Legs again, should I try to just use a LOWER wt, in order to be able to do the fast reps? or would lowering the wt...

How do you build up stamina?

Hi there :D 30 min is a lot better than where I was, just a few mos ago, with endurance! haha I've been working out with weights for many years. I can workout with weights for hours, and don't really tire. But, cardio was an entirely different story. I "look" really "fit". Yet, after...

What can I use to sub for Gym Style Legs? (problems!)

What Leg dvd workout can I use to substitute for the GYM STYLE LEGS w/o, when on a Gym Styles rotation? I'm fine with the other Gym Style workouts--only Legs is a problem. I've been doing: 4 wks: Slow & Heavy 4 wks: Pure Strength 4 wks: Slow & Heavy 4 wks: Pure Strength 4 wks: Slow &...

Which Cathe Dvds did you first dislike, BUT then LOVED?

I wish I weren't so black & white about everything. x( I seem to get set in my ways/ideas, and then miss out on a lot! lol I started off Cathe step with her Classics dvd. I first tried Step Heat after running through all 3 w/o very quickly. Right off the bat, I liked Step Heat, due to the...

Cathe: You said there are many ways to train "slow & heavy", so r/o

RE: Cathe: You said there are many ways to train Gosh, lol, I hate that I'm so by-the-book about everything! lol I never even thought to deviate from her instruction. :p I'll give that a try the next time I do S&H! Thanks!

Cathe: You said there are many ways to train "slow & heavy", so r/o

are there any plans for a "Slow & Heavy II Series"? (you made that comment in the "biceps/triceps" segment of S&H, which I did today. :) I believe you were talking about doing slow counts on the negative movement vs the positive. You mentioned how you might incorporate this slow count on the...

I have rediscovered the Pure Strength Series

I really like the PS series, though I do prefer the slower count from S&H. I've been doing 4wk rotations of PS, and then switching to S&H for 4 wks. So far, so good. (I had tried the Gym Series, but forget what I liked about these other 2 better. I will add the Gym Series back in, at some point...

Kathryn: re P90X and the music... r/o

Thanks Kathryn! So funny you mentioned Cory E. Is she the super super tall blonde? If so, then she's the one who has the really irritating voice, I mentioned. lol I think it's her-- I stashed the dvd away, bec I just couldn't stand working out to it. :/ I'll go over to beachbody and seach...

Kathryn: re P90X and the music... r/o

My doctor never said I couldn't, but she did tell me that when they are "under the muscle" (as mine are), I shouldn't go too heavy. Most female bodybuilders have "over the muscle" implants. The muscle doesn't exert the pressure (squeezing) over the implant, and it looks much better when the pecs...

Kathryn: re P90X and the music... r/o

Hi Kathryn, I don't see a new P90X thread started here, so I'm posting my own thread (hope that's ok). Here is the question I asked you in the Video forum: ___________________________________________________ Interesting thread! I was reading on another board, that the P90X series has...

P90X Shoulders and Arms - Kathryn?

Interesting thread! I was reading on another board, that the P90X series has "electric guitar ROCK music". Is this true? I was thinking about trying out the upper body workouts of this series, just to see if I can add on to some of the Cathe S&H upperbody splits, but IF P90X has "rock music"...

Core work? oh brother! *grunting w/disgust* Any helpful tips for me?? r/o

oh no! lol I think I was using the wrong lingo here. Instead of "Core", what I realize I meant now *THANKS Kathryn!!!* was "PLANKS". That's what I can't do. Yeah, Cathe has a Plank segment at the end of the S&H "Chest & Back" segment. So, "planks" are the thing where you are on the floor, up on...

Core work? oh brother! *grunting w/disgust* Any helpful tips for me?? r/o

How about a NON Cathe "Core 101 for Dummies" type dvd? lol Is there one? Not to switch subjects, but I'd love to find a good "Stretch" dvd. Any recs for that type too? thanks much!

Core work? oh brother! *grunting w/disgust* Any helpful tips for me?? r/o

Thanks! Ok, so you think that Core MAx's 1st segment might be easier than the segment from the S&H dvd? Then, I'll get it! :) I think it's going to be a long long time before I'm ready for pikes, though. LOL *taking really tiny baby steps*
