This was interesting on the chia. I've never tried it. I've seen it at WF, just never bought it. Thanks for all the info. kathryn - no takers huh? lol. My sister's response to just me telling her what is in my smoothie? ... "ugh, gack barf" ROFL. I usually only get in one smoothie per...

    I just ordered a Vitamix

Good tips. I usually only soak my sunnies for an hour or so. Then I usually rinse/drain for just 1 or two cycles. Then mix with some sea salt and dehydrate at 104 for about 8 hrs. Wonderful. Pine nuts - Yummy any way. I use sproutpeople. They have a great website for references on...

    I just ordered a Vitamix

It IS nice. Year round Farmer's Market with local, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Plus I subscribe to an organic box delivery. Then hit Whole Foods for the hard to find items (kale and jicama are hard to find right now.) I've not done the cocoa powder in smoothie yet. I might have to get...

    Clean Eating Cookbooks

Second (or third ;) ) to the above. Also if you don't want to invest in the book there are magazines (but some are almost expensive as the books) - Clean Eating comes out every 2 months. - Eliie Krieger has a current issue out. Looks to be a one time thing. Eat Smart I think. A nice issue.

    I just ordered a Vitamix

Kumquats - I don't grow them. I get them at the Farmer's Market @ $2.50/lb. I've also seen them at Trader Joe's (my favorite store besides the Farmer's Market) and Whole Foods (would be my favorite store if their prices were less). They are fairly new to me as well. I eat the whole thing...

    I just ordered a Vitamix

I think the green lemonade is really good. I just recently 'graduated' from that to green smoothies for breakfast. (They keep me fuller longer and I get all the fiber that I just hated dumping with the lemonade) I really agree with Natalia that the key (for me) to green drinks is the lemon...

    Ah, another poll!

Even though the impact scares me (I will modify), I love the variety. Not just step  Especially looking forward to MMA - my fave!!!

    I just ordered a Vitamix

Natalia's book was my intro into raw foods. I think it's a great book for those looking for that transition. She has varying levels for various stages. I'm not so much into her 'waste management' ;) policies, but I found plenty of other useful info. I had been most a vegan previously and...

What Cathe move can you just NOT do - or know you look hilarious while you try?

It's probably a much shorter list of things I CAN do. :p

    OMG tri set legs

Did this today. Initially I was dreading it. (I hate leg days. blech). Then I read through the card and thought - OK I can DO this. It's not so bad...... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I've been wobbly most of the day. I expect tomorrow I will have DOBS ;) I really felt it. Those &@#$@ plates...

    STS CHECK IN DISC #13

I did this on Friday. One comment - DOMS. Could barely lift my arms above my head the next day. And I'm USED to lifting heavy. I had to cut back on the 1RM recommendations a few times. YOWSA!! A definite shock to my system.

    Anyone very overweight doing STS

Hand Raised Yup me too. I've been overweight almost all of my life. That said, I've been doing Cathe for years (my favorites are KPC and the Pyramid set). And other workouts for years before that. I even lifted very heavy for awhile in the 80's. (Yes I'm over 50). So even being quite...

    I just ordered a Vitamix

I'm also a mostly raw foodie. I use my Vitamix primarily for smoothies (green for me, not-so-green for my teenager) and raw soups. I use my food processor a lot, especially the mini one. It's great for making the nut/dried fruit (Lara-like) things. Also for the larger slices for my...

    I just ordered a Vitamix

I LOOOOOVE mine. Had it for years. Keeps on ticking. Makes fantastic pulverized smoothies. Mine this morning was kale, parsley, zucchini, whole peeled lemon, banana, some apple slices, slice of dried pineapple, a few frozen wild blueberries and some hemp. Yummy! You probably already know...

Eat This Not That...Whats the Real Story.....

I have some yacon. It's quite strong. And mine is like a very, VERY thick caramel. I hardly ever use it. But I've had some things made with it and it's not terrible. Good thing - it doesn't trigger a binge

Eat This Not That...Whats the Real Story.....

I'm guessing it's erythritol. It is a sugar alcohol. Touted as a natural sugar alcohol. Many people find that they can tolerate this one better than some of the other sugar alcohols (mannitol, sorbitol, etc). I'm not one of them. I can't tolerate much of any sugar alcohol. I did...

    STS foot wear:

I had plantar fascitis for quite awhile. It still flares up now and then. I put the inserts in all of my shoes. I use gel insert for my athletic shoes (heel type) and a different kind for my regular shoes/boots. (Dr Scholls I think. They're gray on top.) it helps a lot.
