    The moment of truth!

I would like to join you. I've just started tracking my food and activities at fitday.com and have been measuring once a month for the past two months - I went up .5" from last month x( that's when I realized that my diet is where success or failure lies. I really only want to lose 8lbs, I'd...

    Possible stress fracture, help??

Only a Dr. will be able to tell you if it's a stress fracture but I would definitely stay off of it until you know for sure. A month is a long time to have pain so I would assume that it's something that needs time to heal. Maybe you can focus on upper body work and floor legs for a while...

Ideas to stop being self defeating with my diet

Marsha, Have you tried using fitday.com? It's a free website that you can enter a daily food log and it calculates everything for you - percentages of fat, carbs, protein, etc. It really is a great site and it helps me to know just how much I can have later in the day, ie, dessert time :)...

Quesion for someone from San Antonio???

Hi, I'm not from San Antonio but have been there and I loved it. This is coming from someone who really doesn't like many places besides home. The city is beautiful and the riverwalk really gives the city a unique feel, kind of like you're not in the U.S. but in some place that's a combination...

    Crest Whitening Strips - OUCH!

I know! The same thing happened to me. I made it until day 5, my teeth were so sensitive after that last application that I couldn't even open my mouth - any air on my teeth was excrutiating, I was literally in tears.

    weighing before & after workout......

I have a really hard time drinking water during a workout, especially cardio because...well, I'm rather gassy so I tend to burp for the rest of the workout (or feel like I have to burp, which is even worse). If you sip water in between each exercise or when you change weights that should work...

    weighing before & after workout......

It means you need to drink water. Athletes weigh themselves before and after a workout to guage how much water they need to drink afterwards. 2lbs is the maximum that you'd want to lose in a workout. This is the info from my strength training and conditioning textbook: Before exercise...

    Did ME again , but.........

hmmm, I think you mean the standing, non-weighted glute raises, correct? If so, I had a hard time with those at first too. I think it had to do with the fact that my legs weren't quite strong enough so I was feeling it in the quads more. Keep practicing they really work great in that...

    Grossest Pet Story ever! LOL!

LMAO! That was hilarious. My friends and I were just talking about this the other night - two of them have to manually express their pets anal glands (a cat and a dog). It's so true about the smell not going away! 6 months ago my dog expressed his on the passenger seat of my car and I...

OMGosh! Salmon story!!! So grossed out!

My husband used to cook years ago and he said that pretty much every fish he prepped was wormy- especially sword fish (or any steak-y fish like salmon, etc,) He's never had swordfish since. Now think about what can be in lobster and shrimp...bottom feeders but they're so yummy :)

Getting Vitamin D from the Sun

I've read that even 10 mins of sun/day is plenty - even if its just the tops of your hands.
