Biological clock ticking strong at 31 1/2!!

Janice, Hugs to you, I am so sorry for your loss. I just wanted to echo what others have already said in that getting support and having others to talk to about this is so key. I don't know what I would have done without the support of my girlfriends after my miscarriage. My girlfriends...

    Injuries from not working out?

Thanks for the helpful suggestions! Looking back I can see that I usually do a lot of cardio and weightlifting with limited time spent stretching. Do you have anything you recommend for functional fitness? If you don't mind my asking about how much time do you devote to...

    Injuries from not working out?

Does anyone else have this problem? I always seem to injure myself whenever I need to take a week off. Last week I was really sick (fever, sore throat, etc.) so I did nothing. At the end of the week I was bending down getting something and I hurt my quad muscle. Now it hurts to sit down...

Infomercial trend - have you noticed?

The other thing that I have seen on infomercials (and in magazines) is using pictures right after a woman had a baby as her "before". One of them (can't remember which, maybe a Beachbody?) in the before shot she is sitting in a wheelchair holding a baby. She is probably leaving the hospital...

    Anybody do all of B&G?

That's funny - I did the exact same thing! By the time I added in all my "water" breaks, it took me close to an hour and 45 min just to do the butt part (including the bonus). I was so exhausted afterward!!

What do you use to make protein shakes?

I have a Hamilton Beach single serve blender. I just got it at Wal-mart a couple weeks ago and I love it! I think it was only $13 too. It does a good job with chopping ice.

PENN STATE loved it, loved it, loved it Can't say enough good things about it. It is a big school, but that never bothered me.

    Ab compendium?

I definitely hear you on this one - thus far even though I feel like I am working my abs really hard and eating well I only get some definition, but no six pack. Right now I am mainly using Core Max, Intensity Series, and CTX for abs. For me those are the most challenging. About a week...

    Resistance Bands

Hi Kel, I love the resistance band. It gives such a nice burn. They really don't cost much - Fwonline.com has the 6 foot green one that Cathe uses for $3.55 (although I'm sure you have to pay shipping too) I love the Gym Style series and definitely couldn't live without them. The band...

    I Couldn't Sleep at All....

I was having this same problem on and off for the past few months (up until about a week ago). I was so tired all day long, but then waking up every 2 hours during the night. I made three changes and have been sleeping like a log ever since. 1. exercise in the morning not at night 2...

How will you use the Butts and Guts workout?

I think I'll probably use it one time per week and then work my legs one other time that week. Maybe do Gym Style legs on a Monday and then Butts and Guts on Friday and then fill out the rest of the week with upper body and cardio. That was just my thought right now before I've seen it.

    Thoughts on ab work

I have been confused on what to do for ab work lately too. I find that workouts that seem like they should be more challenging don't make me sore the next day. I haven't figured out if my form is not as good as it should be or if I just need to do more, or add weight etc. For example Core...

I Need Help from the BFFM'ers?

Hi Here is what I did (seems to be working for me so far): I took my maintenance level (for you that was 2263.88) and multiplied by 15 or 20% (Tom says in the book that this is a more precise method) to determine how many calories to cut. If you did that I think you would be eating...

    Muscle and Fitness Hers Magazine

Hi Wendy, They definitely still make it - I was actually looking at it and thinking of buying it when I was in the grocery store the other day. I think it was the Sept issue. I'm sure there is a way to subscribe online too, I just don't know it - sorry.

    Why is this considered o.k.??

I just say "I'm sorry you don't approve of the way I look, but this is just what my body looks like when I treat it well and give it healthy foods and exercise." No one has had anything to say after that. It is really silly because I have had people suggest to me that I need eat more...

    gym styles

I once did the two upper body ones C&T and BSB on one day. I must admit that toward the end I didn't really feel like I was giving it my all. I know I have read that it is best to keep strength training sessions to under an hour. Are you trying to fit them all in to a busy schedule?
