    In need of motivation

I've done very little exercise in the last month or two and am feeling very unfit! :( (IBS, fatigue, and stress have taken over lateley.) So... can anyone suggest a relatively easy rotation to get me back into the swing of things? I have all of Cathe's DVDs and just seem to look at them and...

    Help me spend some money!

Try Bootcamp without the cardio (press skip each time). Its actually a really good total body weights workout.

    Has anyone had liposuction?

Total Body Sculpting with Heavier Weights

I like Total Body Sculpt a lot! I use much heavier weights than in the video. In other workouts, I don't get anywhere near the weights that Cathe uses, but Total Body Sculpt is designed to be a beginner workout so only very light dumbells are shown in the DVD. I really like the ball work. I...

Cathe, can I begin with your workouts?

I'm less advanced with regards to cardio intensity than I used to be. I have found that I can still do Cathe step workouts by using a very low step height. I've had to go back to my old step that I thought I had outgrown. This way, I can still enjoy the workouts I like without wearing myself...

    Is this CTX 2???

Its a shame that the description doesn't say anything about whether the weights will be high rep or low rep. I won't buy until I know because I don't need another Cathe high rep, no rest between sets, workout. The layout (cardio followed by upper or lower body weights) does sound good though.

    What are symptoms of perimenopause?

Thanks for all the advice and info. I'll see if it continues and maybe see a doctor. My experience (in the UK) is that unless you are dying they really aren't interested, so its always a last resort for me!

    What are symptoms of perimenopause?

    What are symptoms of perimenopause?

Can anyone tell me? I'm only 33, but lately have been getting hot (sweaty) alternated with cold during the few nights before my period. Also, I don't have a clear day 1 anymore (ie spotting in the few days before).

favorite Cathe full body toning workouts

If you are very new to weights, total body sculpting (on the low impact step DVD) is very good and only 30 minutes long. After that (in this order of difficulty), I would say go for push pull, maximum intensity strength, and muscle max. Power Hour, although one of the most fun, did nothing...

LUNGES - how do you maintain your balance????

Do static lunges for a while whilst holding onto a chair at one side of you. Then progress to forward lunges still holding onto the chair.

    GS upper body ??

This has been asked before, and I beleive the advise is to go by how you feel. For example, if you are very sore from doing circuits the day before then don't do weights that involve the sore muscles. Many people do lift heavy weights the day after the same muscles got (lightly) worked in a...

    Pure Strength Legs

The sit 'n stands get me, they are so difficult! I don't do this one very often though because all that lunging hurts my knees.

    Overtraining Question

I have trouble doing a step workout the day after training legs because my quads get too tired. But other forms of cardio (with less emphasis on the quads) are okay. Just something to consider.

    Favorite Premixes?

I don't know if you have the basic step DVD, but the upper and lower body add-ons are pretty good and only 20 minutes each. You do have to add a warm up though. The abs add-on is 10 minutes - also very good.

Jazz and Valjane, what results have you got from the pyramids? :-)

    Frustrating Cathe

I'm not Cathe (hopefully you will get a respone), but I just wanted to say welcome to the forums. Try not to get frustrated. If doing aerobics 30 mins 4 days per week was working but then stopped, then my guess is its time to change things. For example, change the type of cardio or increase the...

    Your sage advice (please!!)

When you go on a low carb diet, you lose water from your muscles. When you start eating normal amounts of carbs, you will enevitably add some water to you muscles. I would give it a few more weeks before giving up. Like you, I have a tendency to be thin/fat. I think concentrating on heavy...

    Getting really cut

Just a thought... If you don't have time/energy to do all of the S&H series 2x per week, you could just focus on S&H shoulders and arms 2x. You could do something for the rest of the body 1x per week for maintenance for the month, eg, MIS or Muscle Max without shoulders/arms.
