    Evil Sugar-Somebody Stop Me!

I cannot eat sugar! I become Dr. Jenkyl (or is it Mr. Hyde?) Whatever, once I have the slightest bit of sugar I can't stop. The only way I could do it was to eliminate sugar entirely. Radiant recovery is really helpful--any of those sugar buster type things are. The first week was hard when I...

? FOR THE VERY EDUCATED CROWD

I remember reading about 10 minute workouts being good also. How about a jump rope? That would be major cardio in a short time? Susan

How to get mom to workout??

Since I'm the 59 yr old mother, and I exercise, and I am just now getting my daughter to exercise, I'm coming from a different direction. I now use Cathe's tapes, but I started with Kathy Smith's tapes, and also do T-tapp, which is a good isometric program. You may want to suggest videos that...

Cathe videos at 54 years old?

I am 59 and started with MIS about few months ago. I started with light weights and a 15# body bar. I am now using 10, 12, 15# dumbells, and a 35# barbell. MIS is great!!! Just pace yourself and adapt as you need to.

    Zzzzzzzzzzz . . .

I like the fact that we have more sunshine in the evening, but I hate the fact that this week's adjustment had me still sleeping at 5:30, and when I woke at 6:30 I barely had time to do half my workout. since I didn't exercise last year I didn't mind the change, this year, I am having a tough...

depressed from taking a week off

I know what you mean. This was a bad week for me exercise-wise. With the time change I had trouble waking up and having enough time to exercise, and I've been frustrated and feeling lethargic and out of shape, just with those few days off. At least I got my cardio in by walking the dog...

    Evil Peeps!

RE: I LOVE PEEPS!!!! Re: stale peeps On the radio today they were having a big discussion about how stale peeps should be before you eat them, that they need at least a year to get really good. Someone called into the station to say her mother has been saving them for years, has one she is...

Gotta get it off my chest!

Donna, their sizes are so out of line that it's ridiculous. They must be made for teenyboppers (am I dating myself? what are teenagers called now-a-days?) Stay with it girl, and ignore that kind of mislabeling. don't let it get to you...it's not worth it. Go walk in the sun in your fab...

    Plateaus

Donna, I liked what I read in your thread about plateaus, and went to the workoutsforwomen website. Is it a good program? I am assuming since they sent you info that you belong. Is their advice and program good? How do you coordinate their exercises with Cathe's tapes? Do you get your...

    story on weightlifting to share-enjoy

Thought I would let you, my friends, in on a little secret I've found for building my arm and shoulder muscles. You might wish to adopt this regimen -3 days a week - if you would like. I start by standing outside behind the house and, with a 5 pound potato sack in each hand, extend my arms...

    In a PERFECT world.......

In a perfect world... My dog would sleep as late as I would like to... Salads would automatically chop themselves up... My favorite clothes would expand and contract with my body size... I would always, always feel rested, no matter how early I woke to exercise, and I would have the energy...

    liquid vitamins

Be careful when you buy liquid vitamins. I ordered a bottle from t-tapp's site, and when it arrived it had no breakdown of the amounts of the vitamins, i.e., vitamin a = ?? mg, etc. Thus there was no way of knowing what amounts I was intaking. I also wonder where there are studies that show...

Someone please talk to me about T-Tapp

It's me again--re the cellulite. t-tapp has a body brushing system, but I checked out body brushing on the internet and found a number of sites with instructions--and you can also find places to buy body brushes inexpensively either on the internet or a place like target. I used to laugh about...

Someone please talk to me about T-Tapp

I've been using T-tapp since August. Before that I was using Cathe's strength tapes and walking vigorously. I was building strength with Cathe, and firming, but not losing inches quickly. Once I started T-tapp, I really began to change sizes. As I am older (59), it has been slow, but I am...

    weightlifting for cancer survivors

Annette-thanks for the welcome. You might want to recommend to your stepmom that she look around for a yoga class for breast cancer survivors. I took one when I was still doing radiation, and it helped me enormously in regaining muscle tone and flexibility before I started lifting again...

    weightlifting for cancer survivors

Cathe, I've joined one of the threads, and a question arose which I hope you've researched and can help with. I am a breast cancer survivor, had a lumpectomy on my right breast three and a half years ago, and still retain a number of my lymph nodes. I was doing some lifting at the time, and...
