    Intermittent Fasting....4th weigh in...

You can still use tdee as a guideline. If yours is 1500, multiply by 7, then if you want to lose 1 lb a week, subtract 3500 from that and divide by 7. Eat that many calories in your 8 hour eating window.

    Intermittent Fasting....4th weigh in...

TDEE is the number of calories your body burns every day, just by living, moving, breathing, and all the processes that our bodies go through. The calculator also takes into account your age, height, weight, and what you tell it is your activity level. Most, it seems, or average, is around 2000...

    Intermittent Fasting....4th weigh in...

Jamie vaughn, that's right! I had McDonald's chocolate shake AND an Apple pie Saturday before last. I use my tdee as a guideline. When I first figured it on the fast diet site at my original weight, it said 2100 ! I have never eaten that much! So I lowered my exercise point on the calculator...

    Intermittent Fasting....4th weigh in...

Mixing it up...Yep! Keep your body guessing. That is why they say intermittent fasting works. Your body starts burning the fat you have, but stops before burning muscle because you started eating again. I have been changing up my fast days. One week I will do 2 in a row, then Mon, Wed Fri the...

Mimi Spencer is the co-author, so, yes, same thing. Malibugirl, curious about your amino acids. I did see that mentioned in some research. What do you drink that has it? It is so amazing how the pounds come off! After you start this way of eating, a couple of things happen (well, to me...

    Intermittent Fasting....4th weigh in...

The original book is called "The Fast Diet" by Michael Mosley. But the web site has most of the I do. The book goes into the science behind it, which is interesting but not necessary to start the plan. The web site can be found by searching "the fast diet forum". It is a UK site, since that is...

    Intermittent Fasting....4th weigh in...

I thought I would post one last weigh in, to make it an even 4, and to ensure that this seems to be consistent and sustainable. Weighed in Saturday morning. Down another 1.8 lbs. Started at 176.6. Scale now shows 167.2. Maybe I shouldn't say this here but, in all honesty, I quit the gym and...

    Intermittent Fasting....3rd weigh in!

Good for you! Sometimes they are difficult but get easier as time goes on. The TDEE numbers, in my opinion, are way off! Mine said around 2000, and I knew I couldn't possibly eat that much and lose. I would gain, since I usually eat around 1500. So I limit myself to around 1000 calories a day...

I started on 5:2 but switched 4:3 Pretty quick, and then found the Fast Beach Diet. 6weeks of 3 fast days, really counting on non fast days, and HIIT 3 times a week.

    Intermittent Fasting....3rd weigh in!

I was TERRIFIED to get on the scale this morning. Although I am already into my skinnier jeans! So, at the beginning of this, I was 176.6. It is written on my calendar. After 3 fasting weekends (a little over 2 weeks).....I weighed at 169.0!!! It is fat loss, not muscle loss. I have been...

    Intermittent Fasting plan....started yesterday.

I just came through my 3rd fast. Down another 3 lbs! I started watching what I am eating on non fast days, and added 1 more fast day. Also started running again, only making it HIIT. I eat a tiny bit every few hours on fast days, since I am on meds for pain and have to have something in my...

    Intermittent Fasting plan....started yesterday.

Wow! I am glad that others are trying it! After a while, it gets to be second nature, but it is trying at first! I always was afraid to allow myself to be hungry. I don't know why but now I find that I look for that feeling, as if I now associate it with good health. More power to us all!

Intermittent Fasting weigh in week 2

At the end of my 2nd weekend (10 days), and I am down another.8 lb. I knew it would slow down, and had a hiccup at work Wednesday when the boss brought in a huge box of baked goods! But I didn't deprive myself, knowing that I would be fasting this weekend, and I started a day earlier (Thursday...

    Intermittent Fasting plan....started yesterday.

Personally, I can't workout on an empty stomach. Some people on this plan can, but not me! So I do not fast on workout days. I am doing back to back fasts on the weekend, since I am usually away from home, and keeping very busy. They claim that a workout after a fast burns even more calories. I...

Intermittent Fasting progress...first fast weigh in!!

My last meal was noon Friday. I ate about 50-100 calories around dinner time, then nothing until breakfast the next day. Ate an egg and toast, then around lunch, a 100 calorie bag of nuts and a couple bites of yogurt. I ate a very small dinner, then breakfast the next day. I have to eat...

    Intermittent Fasting plan....started yesterday.

Way to go, Jamie! Yeah, as much as I was eating before, I too was surprised at how long I went before hearing the tummy rumbles. When I would glance at the clock, I would recall how much I would have eaten before and just shook my head. I think I ate from boredom.

Intermittent Fasting progress...first fast weigh in!!

Thank you all! Definitely some shopping on the near horizon! Seeing as how there are health benefits as well as weight, I am going to try to do this for life, although eventually I may go into maintenance mode. You never know what the future holds, so I never same "forever" ,and rarely say never!
