    Someone diagnos my symptoms, PLEASE!

I would recommend talking to a Doc. But, I had one thought. My DH and kids have problems in the winter with skin rashes on their feet and hands. They have a mild form of eczema that flares in the drier weather. We eliminate fragrance and dye laundry detergent and using fragrance and dye free...

    Diana Gabaldon

A friend of mine recommended Outlander a few years ago. I couldn't put it down. I'm waiting for #6 to come out in softcover before I buy it. There is going to be a #7 someday which is planned to be the end of the series. :(

He Thinks I am Too Tall

Madonna-I totally understand why it made you feel uncomfortable. It's not actually what he said but how he acted and the tone. Along with the attitude and the moving to another spot, I would have felt awkward too. Personally, I wouldn't say a word. I would just chalk him up as a member of...

Anyone have any tips for knee pain

I wish I were 20/30..LOL The injury happened when I was 26 and I'm now 45. And, you are right, the discomfort is getting worse the older I get and the heavier I get (sigh). At the time, my knees were not my concern. I compressed my rib cage and cracked my sternum on the steering wheel...

Anyone have any tips for knee pain

No, I've never done therapy. And, yes, I guess I should see the Dr. Gosh I hate doing that for some reason. The pain is not so much a delibitating "yeeow" as it is a "dang, that's annoying" kinda thing. But, it's gotten to the point where leg presses are a problem after the 8th rep. The...

Anyone have any tips for knee pain

I've just about had it with my knees. Way back in 1986, I had a head on collision and smashed my knees into the dash squooshing all the soft cushiony stuff in my knees. They have never been the same. Okay, flash to 2005, I've been working out religiously since 8/2003 using The Firm and...

    Again....Dyson vaccum anyone!

Okay...my experience is not so good. I bought the Dyson last July. A week later a plastic part broke. I returned it for a new one. This one would only suck things up part of the time. I endured with this aggravation for nearly 6 months. But, in the end I returned it too. I will never own...

Whats up with the pajama pants?

I agree that it's a very unattractive look. However, when I look back to the seventies, we were wearing low rise bell bottoms with frayed bottoms with halter tops. My point being that teens go for extreme looks. However, grown-ups are supposed to have a better sense of appropriate attire...

    L'Oreal Hair Colour

    >BUT if you ever want to have your hair colored with something >else, you have to wait until the henna is completely grown >out, otherwise, the hair could burn off because of the >chemical reaction between other hair colors and henna. So >you'd have to be willing to put up with having grey...

Training your lungs to pump air more efficiently

Dave, Strangely enough, I have one of those devices at home. My youngest son is asthmatic and spent a week in the hospital with pneumonia a few years back. I never thought of using it myself. The powerbreathe device is supposed to strengthen the muscles around the diaphragm (sp?). Not...

    L'Oreal Hair Colour

Have you ever thought of coloring your hair with Henna? I swore off the chemical colors about a year ago. My hair is so much healthier these days. I use Henna powders from internatural.com. It took about 2-3 colorings to get my hair back into a healthy condition. I have to color a lot of...

Training your lungs to pump air more efficiently

Most of the time, I struggle through workouts not because I'm reaching muscle fatigue but because I can't seem to get enough oxygen. I'm not sure why I don't breathe efficiently. Today, I was googling around the web to see if there any articles on this issue. I came across this device...

What size TV screen do you watch to work out?

My workout TV is in my bedroom and is a 13". Yep, it's very small. I would dearly love to workout to the 52" HD LCD in the family room. Unfortunately, I would have to carry my weights back up and down the stairs everyday. There is no place to put them in the family room :( We are...

    Would U be upset

There are moments in life like these that make me realize that social graces are a dying art. You have every right to be upset. I would have been too. This happened to me a long time ago and I still remember it 20 years later. But, these days, I would have gotten up and joined him. Or, I...

    Do your pets get along?

My gut reaction is "definately Jungle living";-) I have two cats. Used to have three, but my maine coon up and died of a heart attack at an early age. He was much too sedentary. The other two are one male and one female. The female thinks the male is a royal bother and doesn't...

What do you wear to work out?

I find it motivating to dress in good workout clothes. I don't pay a fortune. My whole fitness wardrobe comes from Target. But, they have some nice stuff. I generally workout in sports bra and ankle length bottoms. In the summer, I use shorts.

    Are you a fitness snob?

Debbie, You are the first person I've heard say that being obese is a shield. I came to that conclusion myself a couple of years ago when I started on my own fitness journey. I'm not obese but I am overweight. People hide emotionally and physically. Sometimes, the physical side manifests...
