So I tried S&S Boot Camp

PS - this wraps up my posts about the Strong & Sweaty series - thanks for humoring me. I was considering doing the same with ICE, since I'm also working my way through all of that series as an ICE newbie, but felt it might get a bit eye-roll inducing (Oh - Kelly's posting ANOTHER review of a...

So I tried S&S Boot Camp

I was pleasantly surprised with this workout. I was low-key dreading its day when it popped up on my rotation, only because I'm used to any Cathe workout with the name "Boot Camp" being really intense. (Looking at you in particular, Intensity Series.) Yes, I did get to panting quite a bit, but...

    LMR2 download#3

    Thanks for posting this - just a note - her Thumb-to-Thumbs she's using 5 lb weights, not 15. ;)

    Free download #3

Oh good - she's still releasing at the beginning of the month. Was starting to worry since they weren't talking it up as much as they did the first two workouts. Yes, I'm sure the next one will be Back & Bis - and maybe she'll tag on some core, too. Not personally a fan of UB split workouts -...

    First Time Posting

Congratulations and welcome! So happy you gave Cathe a try. I've found over the years that her strength training workouts feel far less intimidating than her cardio workouts, if that's helpful to you at all while choosing which next workout to dip your toe in. If you've got the DVD that has...

    Labor Day $5 DVDs

Anyone take advantage of the $5 DVD Labor Day offers? She's got 20 titles in the offer. I decided to go ahead and bite - I purchased Ab Circuits, Cardio SuperSets, and FlexTrain.

So I tried S&S Cardio Slam

Confession: This workout popped up in my rotation yesterday. Just couldn't bring myself to do it. I opted for the cardio section of 4-Day Split's Bootcamp workout. That one I actually had fun doing. (Haven't done it in a long, long, time, either, so it was nice to revisit.)

So I tried S&S PHA Training

Tackled this workout this morning. Definitely a good sweat. I enjoyed the music with this one. I liked that she didn't go super heavy with the weights given the pace that was kept. Most of the exercises are 12 reps. I found I could go a bit heavier on the off-the-side squats and the cross-back...

    Barbell plate storage

@Debinmi oh! Thanks for the suggestion of the 1.25lbers. I didn't even know those existed. Yes, I'm all for being able to micro-load to assist with progressive overload. Thanks everyone for your suggestions on the racks. I have some thinking (and measuring) to do.

    Barbell plate storage

Was there supposed to be a link with your post, Linda? I'm not sure I understand what your "version of this" is supposed to be. Thanks everyone for sharing your set ups. Stuff for me to consider.

    Barbell plate storage

So having recently acquired Cathe's 60lb barbell set, I'm now in the place of needing to find practical storage for the plates when they're not in use - preferably something with a small footprint. What do you all use? I also purchased a couple more 25lb plates from Dick's this weekend to add...

    LMR2 Premix Requests for DVDs

I'm talking about her usual bonuses included with most of her workouts - not the free separate bonuses she's releasing for the people who purchased the LMRE pre-sale. So in this case with the new series, it would be her cardio bonuses. Yes, I don't have her whole P30 set, except the...

    LMR2 Premix Requests for DVDs

I have a premix request - would be nice if you'd make some pre-mixes with your bonus content (if you're including some), that thread the bonus content in through the main workout. Instead of a premix of Main Workout + Bonus + Stretch, do something like Main Workout sections A-C + Bonus sections...

So I tried S&S Cardio Slam

Oh yeah - whenever it is I do this workout again, those are getting modified, along with any other moves that just don't jive with me. But I had to try them out to know if I liked them or not. My consensus is a big NO.

So I tried S&S Cardio Slam

OMG, I did NOT like those big power scissors moving sideways - feel like that's just asking for tweaked knees, or back, or ankles, or hips.

So I tried S&S Total Body Giant Sets

I'm pleasantly surprised with this workout. Was worried it would turn into another "dread factor" workout, but it wasn't too bad. I matched Cathe's weight selection on most exercises except some of the triceps and biceps - tris were kind of oddly sore after doing ICE's kickboxing workout...

    :-)

I don't have Boss Bands workouts, so I had to check out the background. That one is definitely pretty. My second choice is Step Boss with the heavily forested mountains, and then Perfect 30.

Feedback on STS 2.0 10 week

I didn't do the rotation with the mish moshes, instead opted for the 12-week rotation that focuses on the body parts during the last 6 weeks. After I finished the 12-week rotation, I did try to do a few of the mish mosh workouts to get a feel for them, and I found that whichever body part came...

So I tried S&S Cardio Slam

All I have to say is... "Why do you hate me, Cathe?" (Okay, that's not all I have to say) This workout just is not my cup of tea. :( I think Cardio Slam was one of the reasons why I shied away from getting the series because I saw the style of cardio in it and knew it was HIIT and said "nope"...

    Muscle Soreness

The previous advice is good - I'd also suggest trying out some cardio - sometimes the movement helps flush out the lactic acid buildup - give yourself a good stretch afterwards to further aid in the recovery.
