    Meal Planning Burn-out

@fitdeb You can get protein from plants, just know it's not in the volumes you get from animal meats. Ie: 8 ounces of lentils will not have as much protein as 8 ounces of chicken breast. But here to say it is possible to get protein without meat (or not always sourcing your protein from meat...

    Post your LMR reviews :D

Another observation - I threw in LMR Functional Upper & Lower with balance bonuses into my custom XTrain rotation a couple weeks in. I mostly did it as I was suspecting I may need a little extra break/recovery as I get back up to speed with the more physically demanding XTrain rotation. I found...

    Comparing STS 2.0 to XTrain!

Definitely heard that in Bubba's voice. ;)

    Comparing STS 2.0 to XTrain!

Agree. I've subbed in a lot of her different kickboxing workouts for her Hardstrikes days. Yes, there's one or two Hardstrikes in the whole rotation, but I've subbed in Rockout Knockout, Kick Punch and Crunch, Gloved up and Sweaty, Rev'd up Rumble, etc, for some variety.

    Comparing STS 2.0 to XTrain!

Finally hit Burn Sets in my rotation. I feel like with the larger muscle groups... chest and back, at least, I'm needing to pause her rest to extend it out to a full minute between sets. However, I find the 30 seconds adequate for all the rest... shoulders, bi's and tri's. Pretty happy to be...

    Update?

I'm coming to accept this is kinda the new norm now. I'm not in control of what's happening on the production and customer service side. I suppose if I'm really disgruntled, I can speak with my wallet and cancel my pre-order. Not there yet, though. On the scale of things to be disgruntled...

    Download workouts.........

I've been wondering, too... From what I've seen on her social media posts, she was recently recovering from knee surgery and had family stuff going on, which makes me feel like we're not going to see downloads anytime soon. Hopefully I'm wrong.

    Rounder Glutes

All kinds of interesting exercise variations out there to try. My problem is, if it 'aint in a Cathe workout, then I'm not doing it (ie: I don't typically do "extra credit" weight work. The only "extra credit" exercise I'll typically do is walks or hikes). If I had a gym membership I'd probably...

    Post your LMR reviews :D

@Debinmi that's too bad your cardio took a hit with the STS 2.0 rotation. I was pretty floored when my cardio capacity stayed level doing that one's 12-week rotation. Proof positive that people need to find what works for them and not go by anecdotal evidence. I agree. Use it or lose it. Period!

    Post your LMR reviews :D

Figure I'd drop back in as a follow up to having used LMR pretty thoroughly. I did the 8-week LMR-only rotation as listed in the user's guide, then after that I did the 8-week custom STS 2.0/LMR rotation that Cathe shared earlier this year. I'm starting in on a modified XTrain rotation now, and...

    Comparing STS 2.0 to XTrain!

Coming back to this. I never got around to the STS 2/XTrain rotation, but I'm now doing a modified 12-week XTrain rotation (modified, meaning I'm swapping out some of the cardio and lower body days for other Cathe cardio and lower body workouts - the cardio and lower body work in XTrain is too...

Cardio vs Weights (Chalene Johnson) for older women

I always appreciate hearing everyone's experience. Anymore, I have to take such "advice" from influencers as anecdotal evidence. Yes, it worked for THEM, and that's great. Does not mean it's going to work for everyone, however. (That's in regards to her experience with cardio) I agree, though...

I have a few questions - hoping the answers will help me get back in to working out.

Hi Braille - I'm sorry you've gone through some difficult times and I'm glad to hear you're feeling like you're in a place where you want to get back into a regular fitness routine. Have you had a check-up with your doctor at all? I'd suggest that first and foremost. Let them know about the...

    STS 2.0 / Lift, Move & Restore 2-Month Rotation

On my last week of this rotation. I think this is a great transitional rotation if you're coming off a period of general inactivity (like me - I'd been pretty touch-and-go with my exercise the last several months before this rotation). It has enough challenging days mixed with recovery days to...

    Menopause & Lifting Heavy-Max 8 Reps

I don't count calories, weigh, or measure myself, etc., as I get too fixated on numbers. I have distorted thinking when it comes to body image, and I start to weigh my worth as a human being by such things. It's not emotionally healthy for me. My best tell if I'm slipping somehow is how my...

    Menopause & Lifting Heavy-Max 8 Reps

I've not seen anything about that. I suppose so long as you're lifting to failure (or close to it) within that range, and practicing progressive loading, it would be beneficial. I've come to learn over the years that a lot of these studies don't necessarily fit an entire demographic, meaning...

Time-frame of the heavy weight downloads for LMR2 pre-orders?

Just curious if you have an ETA on the heavy weight downloads for those who pre-ordered LMR2 Elevated? Thanks!

    Alternative to barbell Hip thrust

I'll have to experiment with this - I just tried it really quick with two 17.5 # SelectTech weights and the blue fabric loop - the weights kind of tilted inwards and it was a bit uncomfortable on the exterior of my hips. Maybe the blue loop didn't have enough give to it to allow the weights to...

Questions for Lift, Move & Restore 2 Elevated - Questions??

I wish my tennis elbow would heal up. Compound moves with heavy weights have been such a bummer for me a lot of the time, especially if the move involves a bicep curl. Have to keep it pretty light.

    Alternative to barbell Hip thrust

Hmmm - I've not tried that. I have SelectTech weights which are even bulkier than what she's demoing so not sure if it would work (might be really clunky and unstable). But makes me wonder if I could potentially try one of the fabric bands (the heaviest one) with it. I usually just use one...
