    Positive reinforcement time

Great thread!! My favorite thing about my life is my home life, my husband & cats, my wonderful mom & sisters (constantly a source of support & inspiration). I love that fact that I have a job where I can spend some time fiddling with technical things and some time helping people. I guess I...

Which one should I get next?

Step Heat is a good one to get. If you are new to step choreography I would definitely stay away from Step Works until you're a little more comfortable with step. The choreography in Step Heat is comparable to the Wedding tape (maybe a little more complex) and also has an abs section at the end...

    Aerobic Step

I have found a couple of them at the goodwill in new condition for really cheap. Check your local thrift stores & garage sales. Lots of poeple get fitness equipment & then never use it & end up donating it or selling it at a garage sale.

Where can I get a cheap Step?

A friend and I have found 3 Step Co. steps at our local Goodwill over the course of about 3 weeks. They varied in price between $4.99 and $19.99 all were in new condition so I don't know why the variation in price. But even at the high price you can't beat it. I think a lot of people get steps...

Cardio Kicks vs a live class

I went to a couple of live kickboxing classes when I was visiting my mom in October, at her city rec center and they were excellent. All the other classes I went to while I was there were great too. I guess they are just really lucky in Brighton, Colorado to have good instructors at their rec...

Figuring Calorie counts in recipes/home made foods

Master Cook I got the Master Cook software, Cooking Light edition at Office Depot. The thing I use it most for is just what you need. I enter in my own recipes and have it do the nutritional analysis. I absolutely love it. It's very easy. It even has a lot of features that I haven't had a...

    recommendations for kickbox videos

LAST EDITED ON Nov-23-00 AT 02:48PM (Est)[p]I really like CIA 9907 - Kick it! It's got a 8 minute warmup, then 30 minutes of kickbox drills, 36 minutes of kickbox choreography, 30 minutes of what they call sculpting work (some standing, some floor), then 6 minutes for a tai chi cooldown. The...

    recommendations for kickbox videos

RE: Thanks, Loretta! Actually I think Collage carries all of them and you might check G&R Video (www.gandrvideo.com) and the CIA website (www.ciavideo.com) just for price comparisons. Every once in a while CIA has really good sales. Loretta

    recommendations for kickbox videos

I love Cathe's kickbox videos as well. Some others that I like that you might like as well are Janis Saffell's CIA 9809 - Kickbox Express and CIA 9907 - Kick it!, Sherri Jacquelyn's CIA 2K03 Kickbox Jam. All three have drill sections, choreography sections and toning sections. 9809 also has a...

    Lower Back Pain

I had some back problems last year and my chiropractor was really helpful in getting over these. I had pain on one side of my sacrum while doing things like reverse crunches. I don't know if it's the same problem as yours, but I would definitely recommend seeing a chiropractor. Loretta

Singing the praises of Cardio Kicks!

Don't restrain yourself If you can afford to, you'll thank yourself for buying the Cross-Train Express series. They are all great tapes. Especially if you like Cardio Kicks, you will love CTX Kickbox & 10-10-10. And who doesn't need more Cathe in their lives?? I love the ab & weight work in...

Kickboxing is good for your marriage

It's also good for after work stress All I have to do is think of an engineer at the receiving end of my knee smashes & upper cuts & that really gets some intensity into my workouts. It also gets out my negative energy so I can relax & enjoy the evening & go back to work the next refreshed...

    Ab Results!!!!

Favorite Tapes Sounds like your favorites are a lot like mine. Of the new set my favorites are Kickbox, 10-10-10, and Step & Intervals. I also love the Pure Strength Upper Body Tapes. The Wedding video is fun and I like the Hi\Lo section of MIC too! There are so many good ones to choose from...

    Ab Results!!!!

After doing the new CTX tapes all September, I am actually starting to get ab results. I am so thrilled!!!! Abs have always been my most stubborn body part. I actually did the rollups at the end of Kickbox CTX without having to struggle. The "sticking point" didn't seem so sticky. I love the...

    deadlifts revisited

Deadlifts I don't feel pull in my hamstrings when I do deadlifts no matter how far I go down, but I do feel like my hamstrings worked the next day. I'm going to stick with the range of motion the Cathe uses, because I don't want to risk overstretching my back. Loretta

    deadlifts revisited

Deadlifts What would be the benefit doing deadlifts off the edge of the step? My hamstrings are pretty flexible from and I can stretch down & reach the barbell to the floor while standing on the step but I don't see the benefit in the move. Is it to get more range of motion in your hamstrings...
