    Please more cardio....

If I'm not mistaken, the workouts Cathe announced a few months ago will still be produced. Someone asked about the future of the boxing workouts ( I think she goes by WD) and the response she got from SNM was that workout would still be produced, so I'm assuming that Slow & Heavy II and the...

Gym Styles - one day upper body

Hi, Lauren. You could use the Timesaver Premixes. The timesaver premix for GS Back, Shoulder & Biceps is 36 minutes and for GS Chest & Triceps it is 32 minutes. If you eliminate the warm up and cool down of either premix, you should clock in at less than an hour. HTH

    workout routine

Hi, DCerveny! In case Cathe doesn't see this, I wanted to let you know what I did as a beginner. I started out with Basic Step and Body Fusion (these two workouts are on one DVD and there's a bonus Upper Body, Lower Body and Abdominal workout). I would also recommend Low Impact Step. This DVD...

Cant' Wait for School -little long

I hear you, Kassia! I have three littles ones, DS almost 6, DD 4 going on 13 and DD almost 3. They were okay at the beginning of summer break, but now all they seem content to do is fight! I don't get much sleep and my youngest doesn't nap anymore so I have to workout while they're up and...

Cathe Am I Repeating Repeating Myself?

I find that at 8", I'm more distracted with making sure I have proper alignment, so I short change my range of motion with the moves (I'm 5'4". At a 6" step height, I can make the most of a step workout and actually get a better workout.

    Cathe Cathe Cathe

Usually when Cathe says she's using a 40 pound barbell, she means the plates and the bar included. The very first time I did a Cathe weight workout, I decided to use half the weight she stated for every exercise and took note of what weight was too light or heavy (for me)for that particular...

    Question for Fitnessfreak

Fitnessfreak, thank you so much for responding so quickly. I know you're really busy. It's really gracious of you to take this time. I consider myself intermediate as far as weight training goes and low intermediate for cardio because of my excess weight. I'll try the rotation you've...

    Good news!!!!!

Congratulations Alini! I'll be starting the naturalization process soon and I know how important and special it is. It's not easy either! Naturalization is a long process that can be taxing, but you made through, so you should be especially proud of yourself!! Happy Cathe workouts, by the way!

My first step workout in 1 1/2 years!

Cassie, congratulations on your progress to full recovery. I don't know that I would have been that dedicated and consistent after an injury like that. You should be very proud of yourself. Basic Step is fun Cathe step workout to acclimate to her style before moving on to more intense step...

    Question for Fitnessfreak

First of all, thanks for all the work you do creating fantastic rotations and educating us about all things fitness. My question is, for someone who needs to lose more than 70 pounds, is more cardio better or should the focus still be on weight training? I've got the handle on my diet and I'm...

    Dear Cathe,

I agree that the beginner workouts, namely Total Body Sculpting, Body Fusion and High Step Circuit don't offer serious weight training, but they have their place for a true beginner. It's hard to heavy up in these workouts because the reps move fast. You might want to try Super Sets and Push...

    exercise

Hi, Cindy. You might want to start with "Basic Step". The choreography is pretty basic and there in no impact at all. This workout comes on the same DVD as Body Fusion which is another great beginner workout. Body Fusion alternates aerobic step work with light weight strength training. The...
