Strength in Numbers

Last night DH and I did NROL weights. He still has a tight spot in his back so he played it careful. I am hoping he gets better by Saturday morning. We are going to have a busy weekend. With it being a long weekend, probably won’t post again until Tuesday. Have a great weekend and holiday!

Pam Great job on RSH CUB Pam Extreme Mix! That one is so much fun too. I do like HS but too but sometimes you want something a little different and these RWH’s fit the bill. I think DH’s belly is getting smaller but he doesn’t see any physical results. He has said he feels better and knows since he is increasing weights and some of AB is getting easier that that is progress. Great job on MM too! I am so excited for the 3 day weekend.

Janie Great job on TBS! I need to friend you on FB. I’ll try to remember that this weekend. Loving those memory stones. So beautiful and unique. I will let DH know what you said. He can use all the encouragement he can get some days (can’t we all). I couldn’t watch the video at work but will try to remember to this weekend. I am sure it is a beautiful song. You have a good ear for music.

Have a great day!

Julie Great job on NROL with your hubby. Glad to hear he is playing it safe with his back. Hopefully it was feeling better this morning. I do rally like the RWH series. It seems like there is a lot of variety and a lot you can do to mix it up. I'm glad to hear that your hubby knows he is making progress even if he can't see it. That is hard since you see yourself every day! It looks like I just missed your out yesterday.

Last night I finally water skiied, hooray! I made my first pass right off the dock too so I was pretty happy. I even skied part of a second set which I never do the first time out. This morning was IMAX 2, all 128 Jeannie hops and all. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring yet, but it's going to be beautiful all weekend. Have a great one!

Today we went to hear a local band here in North Cove. It was fun and danced the night away. That was my cardio today. LOL

Pam, Yea! So glad you had a chance to ski. Was it cold? It sounds like you had a lot of fun. Great job on IMAX 2 and all the Jeannie hops and all. Good for You!

Julie, Great job for you and DH doing NROL weights. Whenever I exercise my back I make sure my knees are bent, and my cheeks are tight. See on here Tues. Have a good weekend. And happy holiday to you too. I hope you do befriend me on FaceBook.

Take care,

Janie

Saturday morning DH and I did AB! After that, he had to take the car in to get new rotors and I had an appointment to get pedicures with my mom and sister for my mom’s mother’s day gift. I have never had one before. It was fun but I am not liking the nail polish on my toes. I never wear polish and it is really bothering me. After that, my mom, sister, and I went to lunch and did a little shopping at Costco. Saturday night DH and I had dinner with his family for his grandparent’s 66th wedding anniversary. It was a very nice dinner but not a place DH and I would go to on our own. Very expensive! Sunday morning DH and I did NROL weights and the extended STS stretch. Then we went to my family’s to for lunch and hanging out. Monday was lazy all day with horrible eating. DH and I decided not to work out and that was probably a mistake. Definitely feeling sluggish this morning. Looking forward to getting back on track with eating right and working out today.

Pam Great job on Imax 2 and 128 Jeannie hops! So glad you had a great ski. Hopefully the weather will be great this year and you can get many more in.

Janie Great job on your dance cardio! I totally forgot about friending you this weekend. I can’t do it from work, so I wrote myself a post it note to do it when I get home. Yep, I have been telling dh to squeeze his cheeks. Strong cheeks = safe back! Great job on your rest day!

Have a great day!

Last night DH and I did NROL weights. He still has to go very light and modify a lot because of his back and knee problems but I am still very proud of him for keeping up with this. Super tired today but it is my own fault. I stayed up an hour past my bedtime because I was finishing up a book. I told DH to not let me do that again.

Have a great day!

One of the members of our jamming sessions came over to practice with me. Really cool. We both learned a lot. But I must say, I think I benefited much more. Today was huge amount of gardening and using that as my workout.

Julie, Great job on NROL weights. LOL! I read past bedtime as well sometimes. Must have been in a good spot. Great job on you two for doing AB. Sounds kinda different having nail polish on toes. I think I've put some on before and didn't like it too. Shopping at Costco is always fun. OOPs, You and your hubby will get back on track. So easy to overeat for sure. You are doing the right thing getting back into it.

Take care,

Janie

Surprise.......remember me? I have wanted to get back here for a long time but I never seemed to have time to get back to it on a consistent basis. I think the last time I posted was around July or August when I had vacation. I will explain what has been going on with me. Even when I was on vacation I was feeling run down and tired all the time, it didn't seem to matter how much sleep I got. I was falling asleep at my desk on the train and all I wanted to do when I got home from work is sit on the couch and not do anything. I finally went to see an allergist and I found out that I was allergic to a lot of things some of them being oranges, pork and soy. It was easy staying away from the oranges and pork but I didn't realize that soy was in absolutely everything that I ate. As I was trying to figure out what I could eat Cathe had a post on how the Nourishing Gurus helped her with her inflammation. So I decided to sign up for their Mega Energy Breakthough. It was the best decision that I have ever made. They helped me with getting back on track and eating right. I have lost 17 pounds and I am the lightest I have been in about 10 years. Even though I was now eating right and wasn't feeling as tired I still couldn't get consistent with my workouts. So I have been to see a specialist who referred me for a sleep test that I had a couple of weeks ago. I will find out the results next month. I am hoping that they will have an answer as to why I really don't feel refreshed when I wake up. Anyway as I said before I have been struggling with my workouts and I have lost a lot of strength and cardio. I managed to do the first meso cycle of STS and today I started meso 2 disc 13 Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Oh and this was my first day of being a retiree. Yep after 36 years of working for the same employer I finally retired. And after all the dinners and lunches that I had this past month I have signed up for the Nourishing Gurus Spring Cleanse. I am really looking forward to it even though I have been eating healthy probably not as healthy as I would like.

Anyway I think I am starting to ramble. It feels good to get back here and reconnect with all of you. I am glad that you guys kept this check in going.

Last night DH and I did AB. Today is my last day at work until Tuesday as I am taking Friday and Monday off to get some things done. No fun vacation planned just errands to run on Friday and Monday we are taking Maggie to a special vet to get cold laser therapy for her arthritis.

Janie Great job on your GardenMax workout! How fun to do a jamming session. I bet you taught the other person as much as you learned from them. If you keep your mind open, you can learn from anybody during any situation.

CHERYL!!!! I am so happy you found some things out to help you. It sounds like you are headed in the right direction now that you know some things like staying away from soy. It is amazing how it is in everything. You did great getting through STS Meso 1. Congratulations on retiring! So exciting to be able to not have an alarm waking you up and being able to schedule things when you want rather than around a work schedule. You have worked hard and deserve to enjoy your retirement now. Can’t wait to find out more about what you are learning about yourself!

Have a great day!

Had to take a rest day. My leg is feeling dull pain off and on. Because (I think) I used my back a lot yesterday and I fee,l in some way, it's because of that. Sciatic Nerve Pain? But just for one day.

Julie, Great job on you and hubby for doing AB. Poor Maggie. Give her my petting and xoxo.

Cheryl, OMG! We are SO glad you are back. Missed you! Aw you had a time didn't you! Poor thing, but the best thing about is you know how to help yourself and prevent your ailment. Cool! Soy and me don't get along either. Taking action and signing up for the Nourishing Gurus is going to help you with many things in your body. It sounds like you are going to be just fine. So proud of you. Sad though a lot of people don't even know that it could be the way they are eating. Congratulations for losing 17 pounds! WOW! You are SO on your way to a healthier you. Great job on managing Meso Cycle of STS and starting Meso 2 disc 13 Chest, shoulders and triceps. Oh MY! You are going to be soooooooo busy in retirement. Yes you are. LOL enjoy. And for signing up with the NGSC. I want to do that.

So proud of all of you,

Janie

Julie, Good job on AB. It is nice to see that your DH is working out with you. Enjoy your long weekend. Sometimes you need that so you can get things done. Poor Maggie dealing with arthritis. That is so painful. I hope the cold laser therapy works for her. It is nice not to have an alarm waking me up. It has only been two days and I think it will take a while before it really sinks in and I realize that I am not on vacation.

Janie, Take care of yourself. Your leg pain could be due to your back. Good idea to take a rest day today. I missed you guys too. I will let you know how the cleanse goes. This will be the first time that I have ever done anything like this.

So today I did RWH Low Impact #2. I could tell that my cardio isn't what it used to be. Something that I will be working on. After that we had to take our car into a body shop. DH decided that he wanted to introduce the front of our car to the garage a couple of weeks ago. So we have a Toyota Camry as a loaner car. Wow but it is huge, it takes up most of our garage. I also looked at all the information for the cleanse and did up a shopping list for it. I am looking forward to it but the hardest part will be giving up coffee for a week. That is one thing that I do enjoy first thing in the morning.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Hi ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA, I was in Dallas all week for training and we had very long days.

Janie Great job on your dancing cardio, That is a great way to get your exercise in. Skiing was not cold at all, I was surprised since we haven't had many 90+ days yet. The first time we went (last Friday) I wore just my wetsuit top. We went again on Monday and I didn't even wear that.

Julie Great jobon AB with your hubbye. I love getting a pedicure. I have really bad big toe nails so I usually go about once a month and get acrylic on my big toe nails. I hope you enjoyed that expensive dinner! Great job on NROL and STS stretch too. Great job on NROL with your hubby on Tuesday. He is really doing great!!!
Sometimes it is just really hard to put down a good book.

Janie How much fun practicing with your jamming group! Great job on you gardening workout too.

Cheryl YEA! Welcome back, so good to see you here. I am so happy for you on your retirement. Wow, that is crazy that you are allergic to all that stuff but didn't know it. So cool that you figured it out and are feeling so much better. Wow, 17 pounds, that is awesome. Congratulations! I might have to check out the Nourishing gurus, I didn't see that post from Cathe. Great job on finishing STS meso 1 and starting meso 2, I think you will be back on track in no time.

Julie Great job on AB with your hubby. I hope you enjoy your long weekend!

Janie Oh dear, do take care of that leg. That doesn't sound good, hopefully some rest will do it good.

Cheryl Great job RWH LI 2. I really like the RWH workouts. Uh oh, it sounds like the front of the car didn't like the garage so much ;). How long is the cleanse, one week? Is it pretty restrictive? I am thinking I need to do something. I put on about 5 pounds that I really want to get rid of!

So to catch up, I did a workout Sunday morning, but I can't remember what it was! Monday morning was Drill Max, but I just did the first 5 rounds since we were going skiing after. We went to the lake and had another good day skiing. Then I went over to my moms and hung out by her pool for the afternoon. Tuesday I had an early morning flight to Dallas so didn't get in a workout. I did get up and go to the fitness room at the hotel on Wednesday morning and did an hour on the stairmaster. I had something at dinner Wednesday night that didn't agree with me and woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick. I never got sick, but couldn't get back to sleep so no workout for me the next morning. I made it through the day ok luckily and then got home at about midnight last night. This morning was Crossfire. It was tough, but I made it through. Have a great day.

Pam

Pam It is good to be back. I really like the Nourishing Gurus, they have helped me a lot. The pre-cleanse started yesterday and will go to Sunday. This is where you slowly start to remove things from your diet such as coffee and processed foods. The actual cleanse is 7 days and will start on Monday. Then next Monday you slowly start to add back foods such as coffee, eggs etc. to see if you react to anything. It is as restrictive as you want it to be as there are three levels with the first level being the easiest and the third level being the most restrictive. I am thinking that I will be between the second and third level. The car didn't like the garage so much, but we have a really nice loaner car. It is a Toyota Camry and it is really nice to drive. Good work in getting most of you workouts in while you were away. It isn't nice when something doesn't agree with you. At least you didn't get sick but it sure does throw off your day.

So for me today it was STS Disc 14 Legs. I really like the tri-sets. After that I got the laundry and vacuuming done. Later in the day we went with a neighbour and their dog to the river where it was nice and cool. It was a hot one out today.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl

Sorry guys. MIA. I swear I don't know where the time goes. Did a fast 45 min. walk on the beach with Rolly. The Sciatic Nerve is still painful, but it's getting better. Darn! I'm OK with getting old, but not OK with set backs. Ugh!

Cheryl, Great job on STS Disc 14 legs and the housework. I can see you next to the river cooling off. Awesome.

Pam, Good job on the workout Sun. Mon: Drill Max on the first 5 rounds. And a good day of skiing. Oh nice to hang out by a pool! Tues. using travel for a rest day is good. Wedn. for using their stairmaster for an hr. EWW, restaurants can do that to ya. I'm so sorry you got sick. And for this mornings Crossfire. Very proud of you. That one is a toughie.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Cheryl I looked at the Nourishing Gurus cleanse, is it worth the $97? I started to sign up until I saw what it cost  Did you do the 1:1 thing for the regular program? Maybe you will decide that you want to stick with that nice Camry :)Great job on STS disc 14. I really like the tri-set format too, it seems like it really makes the workout go by fast. Great job on clean max too. We haven't had too many really hot days yet, but it has been really nice, mid 80s a lot.

Janie Don't worry about being MIA, you are enjoying yourself and that is what life is all about! Great job on your beach walk with Rolly. I'm sorry to hear that you are still having problems with your sciatic nerve. I hate that!! I hope it is feeling much better soon.

Yesterday was supposed to be MIS, but I noticed that I had missed Intensity on the rotation on Thursday so I did that instead. It almost killed me, but I made it through. Then I did the MIS this morning. Yesterday was just working on the yard, doing errands and laundry. DH left for Atlanta this morning so I was up early to take him to the airport. Now I think I'll do some more errands and then probably some more pool time. Have a great day.

Pam

Janie It is surprising how fast time goes by isn't it. Sorry that your sciatic nerve is still bothering you. I am with you, I am OK with getting older but not all the aches and pains that go with it.

Pam it is a bit pricey but you get access to a private FB page where you can ask questions plus recipes a protocol guide and other information. They also have a another private FB page where you have monthly topics and get lots of support. That is $19.95 per month which a bit more reasonable. I am not sure what you mean by the 1:1 thing for the regular program? Good job on Intensity, that one would kill me too

Yesterday I did STS disc 15 back and biceps. I am a bit sore today but it is a good sore. This morning I did segment 2 of stretch max. We were going to go to the flea market this morning but Taylis our oldest cat was having problems pooping. So I took him into the vet and found out he has a lot going on. He has an enlarged thyroid, some growth on his lower spine, and a growth on the inside of his back leg that might be cancer. He is still there getting an IV to get fluids back into him so he can poop. I am going to phone soon to see how he is doing. Poor little guy he is 15 and has been a pretty healthy guy.

How you all had a great weekend.

Cheryl

Walked one the beach with Rolly and did yoga.

Pam, Great job on Intensity. It is intense for sure. Good job. And the MIS this morning. It's so nice to get in the fresh air and work outside. Also getting caught up with house work and errands.

Cheryl, I love that you are back. Great job on STS disc 15 back and biceps. Also for this mornings segment 2 of stretch max. I need to do some Cathe stretches. Poor Taylis! I'm so sorry. Hoping for the best for him.
Here's some photos of my work with ash and glass.

Take care,

Janie

Cheryl I was just wondering what you did to get started with the nourishing gurus. Their web site lists a getting started for free, group/home study programs, private coaching and corporate wellness. I just signed up for the Getting started for free which looks like I'll be getting some emails. I think I will check those out and then decide if I want to do the monthly thing. There are certainly a lot of rave reviews on their website! Great job on STS disc 15 and being good sore and also on your two segments of stretch max! Oh no, poor Taylis, I hope that he is doing better :(.

Janie Great job on your beach walk and yoga! I love your glass. Especially the little foot!! That is definitely my favorite.
I really like this one too, what is it attached to?

This morning for me was the original Bootcamp. I still love that workout but am always happy to be finished with the terminator climbers. Happy Monday!

Pam

Expecting company today, UFO tomorrow, making soap on Wed. and guitar jamming on Thurs. A full fun week.

Pam, Great job on Bootcamp. Good for you!

Here is a photo of what the bookmark is attached to.

Take care,

Janie Good job with your walk on the beach with Rolly and yoga. I really like your glass work, it is really unique.

Pam How I got stared with the gurus is I first signed up for their newsletter and then I saw their Mega Energy Breakthrough program. I knew I needed something so I took the plunge and have never looked back. I like their emails and they usually give you a recipe or two to try out as well. Take a look at the emails and then decide if you want to go further with them. Sometimes they also have free webinars too. If you sign up but can't make the call they provide you with a link to listen to it at a later time. They are always interesting. Good work on the original Bootcamp. That is one I haven't done in a long time but I still remember those terminator climbers.

Janie I really like your bookmark.

So today I did STS disc 16 Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. After that I called the vet to see how Taylis was doing. He was doing fine today, his blood work came back fine and he did poop a bit but he still had quite a bit still in him, so he had to stay today and again tonight. We should be able to pick him up tomorrow. We did go there to see him though as we were missing him. He seemed a bit sad and I can hardly wait to get him home again. He is going to need some high fiber food for the next little while though.

Have a great day everyone.
