Strength in Numbers

Janie It's a bit more cumbersome doing the multi-quote reply with the new forum, but you can do it. Hit reply on the first message. It takes you to the bottom with that message shown. Then you can page up and hit reply on the next message, etc. It's a bit of a pain but can be done. I miss the link to view the first unread message too. How did the consultation with the specialist go? Glad to hear you are back at the ocean! That is such a nice picture of you and Joey!!! You don't look like old farts to me!:D

Julie Great job on your strength workout. That is pretty funny about the spider at the dentist. I'm glad you posted that because I have to cancel a dentist appt for next week! Thanks for the reminder. :) I was going to try that tapatalk app but have never gotten around to it. It sounds like I might not be missing much though....

This morning was disc 35 plyo legs. Only one more STS workout to go! Next week we will be out west hiking for my active recovery week. I picked out a new rotation to start when we get back, but I can't remember which one it was. One of Cathe's recent ones. I was thinking about doing another STS rotation, but I think it will be good to do a plain old rotation for at least a month and then I'll see. Have a happy hump day!

Trying to eat less protein. This is my nights dinner. 5 gluten free grains (brown rice, millet, quinoa, steal cut oats, and buckwheat) mixed together. Then sauteed beets, garlic and yams. Roasted an eggplant and cut it up in bite size pieces and used some of it. Added some black beans. Then cut up a slice of purple onion and some cut up orange and added 1/2 avocado, some dried cranberries (sugarless), some sunflower seeds and a touch of rice vinegar. Mix all together. Mmmmmmmmmm. Simple and delicious. A little time consuming because of the cooking of the grains. A few of them need different timing before they are done. So worth it though because this is a perfect meal. Try it out, I dare ya. LOL
Rolly and I walked the beach intermittent walking fast and regular walking for almost 3 hours. It was a good day.

I have gum graft on the 7th of Oct. It will hurt. O dear.

Julie, EWWWWW, I have a phobia about spiders. I would have been screeching! Great job on your strength workout last night.

Pam, Thank you for the tid bit of multi-quote. It helped a lot. Great job on disc 35 plyo legs. Yea! On more STS to go. You did so well, very proud of you. I like your plan to start a rotation for a month and then back to STS. Very smart.

Take care,

Janie

Last night I did Hard Strikes No Conditioning Timesaver. It’s getting exciting to see the pictures from the new workouts coming. Love the blue in the one we have seen so far. Of course, I am biased since blue is my favorite color. I can’t wait to see more. I am still wondering how she is going to pull all of this off by late November. From what I can tell, she still has 8 more workouts to film and leaves for the road trip late next week?

Pam Great job on disc 35! Yea that you are almost done with STS! I like the idea of taking a break and doing something else when you get back from vacation. Maybe by the time you are done with that rotation there will be a better idea on when the new workouts come out.

Janie Your meal sounds delightful. You are so creative even in the kitchen. Did you make that up on your own? I am pretty bad about coming up with things on my own. I usually need to start from a recipe by someone else and then tweak it to my preferences or what I have on hand. Great job on your intermittent and regular beach walk for 3 hours! Wow!! Oh I am so sorry you have to have the gum graft. I’ll be praying for you to not be in too much pain.

Have a great day!

Janie Your dinner looks beautiful, but I have to say that it doesn't sound like something I would like! Maybe because I don't like beets, yams, or eggplant..... Are you really trying to eat less protein, or just less meat? Great job on your interval beach walk. Wow, almost 3 hours!!! Oh no, sorry to hear that your gum graft will be painful :( At least it is happening soon so you can get it over with and not be dreading it for a long time. Glad to hear that the multi-quote worked for you. I just found out that clicking the blue dot to the left of the thread name takes you to the first un-read message. I posted in the forum that I was missing that button and someone pointed that out.

Julie Great job on Hard Strikes! I was excited to finally start seeing some pictures from the new workouts too. It had been so quiet I was getting worried. I agree though, I'm not sure we will get them in November. I forgot she had another road trip coming up. I like the blue too, but I was bummed to see no Cede or Brenda!

This morning for me was PCCC again. I did the original PCCC and did rounds 1,4,2,3,5. I was glad to have round 4 finished so quickly and I was ready for it so it seemed like it went by a lot quicker than normal. It seems like I tweaked my back a little though, which happens often when I do this workout. I think I may have to start modifying some of the rollbacks into a pushup because I think that's what does it. I don't think it will be more than a one day issue though. Happy Thursday, I'm excited because we are leaving for vacation in 2 days!!! Have a great day.

Pam

Rolly and I walked the beach today, but not for 3 hrs. LOL!

Pam, Great job on PCCC, rounds 1,4,2,3 and 5. Oh O, take care of that back. I should say I'm trying not to eat so much meat. My cholestrol raised a red flag and so I'm thinking the Palio Diet must not be for me. Too much meat/protein. I will use the blue button from now on. LOL

Julie, great job on Hard Strikes No Conitioning Timesaver. Blue is my favorite color too. I'm hoping to see Cedie and the rest of the gang in these DVD's. I did make up this meal. Things I had around the house and needed to use up. LOL

Take care,

Janie

Last night I did Cardio Leg Blast. Really feeling good about my cardio being better than it was when I took 5 months off and just did strength workouts. This weekend I am going to start a new month of Get Glutes (month 12) but I am going to do only 3 of their workouts and 2-3 Cathe cardio workouts.

Pam Great job on PCCC! I know I said my cardio has gotten better but for some reason I am not sure I want to try CCC yet. I hope your back is doing better now. I get little tweaks in my back that only last a day if that but they are a little annoying when they happen. Hope you have a wonderful vacation if I don’t talk to you again before you leave!

Janie Great job on your beach walk with Rolly! That’s a great idea to use things up in a big ole veggie bowl. Good luck exploring foods you can eat for your health. I know some people love the paleo diet but I have always wondered how that much meat could be good for anyone long term.

Have a great day!

Janie Great job on your beach walk, even if it wasn't another marathon! ;) Ok good, I was worried about eating less protein, now I feel better! Of course I don't feel better that your cholesterol was up, hopefully your new diet will take care of that. Yes, the blue button is helpful, but I do wish they would give us the simpler multi-quote reply back! Whine, whine, whine, huh? :D

Julie Great job on CLB! It sounds like your cardio level has rebounded nicely! I like your new plan of adding cardio into your GG routine. I totally understand you not wanting to try CCC yet. I still always dread it when it's on the calendar and then always think it wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be when I'm done. Not that it doesn't kick my butt of course! My back is feeling a lot better now. I still felt it a little when I was rolling back on the bench to do triceps this morning, but just a tiny little thing. CCC always does that to me.

The two of you got your favorite blue outfits in the first workout teaser and I got my favorite pink in the second! I love how the colors are so bright and vibrant in both of them. I'm getting a little afraid of these workouts based on some of the pictures they've posted though . They look like they are going to be tough! This morning I finished my STS rotation with disc 36. I'd like to say that I finished strong, but unfortunately I didn't  I was weaker than last week and had to drop down to 17 pounds on my concentration curls. Oh well, I am done for this round. Have a great Friday and week if I don't get back here before we return!

Pam

Rolly and I walked the beach for an hour. Came home and did some heavy duty gardening. Planted garlic, changed pots on the 3 blueberry bushes and 2 fig trees. They were in plastic containers and don't think they would make it through the cold weather without spiting. So I planted them in the bigger wood barrels. Big Job, and about 3.5 hours worth of lifting carrying 35-45 pounds of soil. Sweaty day, but good.

Pam, Thinking I got this figured out now on how to post and reply, but when I try to upload a photo, I don't know what to do. Clan you help with that too? I press on "Upload a File" and nothing happens. I can't wait for the new DVD's and love looking at the new workouts here. Seems everything is going good. Great job on finishing STS rotation with disc 36. Yea! Not an easy thing to do by any means.

Julie,
Great job for last nights Cardio Leg Blast. I love cardio and just can't seem to do without it, no matter what. LOL Love your plan on starting a new month of Get Gluts (month 12) WOW, and also doing Cathe's cardios. I think that's cool!

Take care,

Janie

Rolly and I went for a 30 min. walk on the beach. Then did some soap making.

Homemade soap not ready to cut into bath size bars.

Homemade soap cut and ready to cure for 6 weeks.

My neighbor and I trade her fresh eggs for my homemade soap. Now, I need to make some for me, but a different recipe. LOL

Take care,

Janie

Friday night when I got home I felt like doing some spinning so I did a timesaver from Pedal Power. Saturday morning I did Athletic Training. Just when I thought my cardio was doing better, AT kicked my butt. Had to take some small breaks during the first half with all that leg work. Then Saturday, DH and ran a few errands that took up most of the day. Sunday was the start to my modified Get Glutes month 12. Then I was lazy the rest of the day!:p

Pam I love the bright colors of the workout outfits too! I am very much looking forward to having a more balanced approach to working out. I love the Get Glutes workouts just not the mentality that strength training is the only form of working out that should be done. Hope you are having a wonderful vacation!

Janie Great job on your beach walk and then your YardMax workout! Wow that is a lot of yard work. I would say that is definitely a workout. Looks like you figure out how to attach photos. Love your soap making. I bet it is so much healthier than store bought!

Have a great day!

When I use "Upload a File" It won't upload a photo. I have to use FB or Picturetrail. Is there something I need to pick to get a photo up for posting? I've done it before, but now I can't.
All weekend been walking the beach with Rolly and doing yoga. I'm loving yoga.

Julie, Great job on doing Friday's Timesaver Pedal Power. Sat. Athletic Training and kicking butt. And for Sun the start of modified Get Glutes month 12. How exciting to workout with Cathe's cardio as well.

Take care,

Janie

Last night I did a strength workout from Get Glutes month 12. I was done in like 40 minutes but still felt worked out so that was nice. Anyone see the moon this morning? It was pretty cool looking. It was a blood moon (although it didn’t look really red) and a lunar eclipse. I made my husband stop and look at it because usually he is just too busy for that kind of stuff.

Janie Sorry about the picture loading. I just tried it and it told me my file was too big. Looks like you would have to make your file size smaller to get it to upload from your computer. Not sure how to do that right now. I would have to play around with it some. Great job on your beach walking and yoga!

Have a great day!

For some unknown reason the "Upload a File" is now working. I've changed nothing and it's now working. Hmmmmmmm. Glad it is.
Yesterday was my gum graft surgery and it went very well. Today I'm myself, just have to eat protein drinks for about a week and on to more solid foods. But no pain nothing, I was worried for no reason. Ha, who knew? Will wait a couple of days before I do any workouts.

Julie, Great job on Get Glutes month 12. Sorry I didn't see the moon. Darn! Glad you made your hubby look at it.

Take care,

Janie

Update on Abel's drawing. It's getting there, but still have a ways to go. Taking a break and getting ready to do some clam digging. OOOOO, it's really foggy out there.

Joey and I got our limits on clams. So much fun together. It was quite the walk getting there and back, but we did it. And will do it again tomorrow.

Janie

Wednesday I did 30/30 and then did some light cleaning because I have a birthday party for my dad I have to go to on Saturday which is my normal cleaning day. Last night I did a Get Glutes strength workout. So happy it is finally Friday. I am more than ready for this weekend!

Janie So glad your gum graft went so well. That is awesome that it was not that bad. Love the pop of color in your drawing! Mmmm … clams! Sounds like clam chowder could be in your future?

Have a great day!

Went clamming again tonight and Joey I got our limits. It's takes longer to clean them than it does to get them. LOL! Oh but I'm sure will be worth it. Took our jeep down to the ocean this time. Made things much easier.
Almost done with Abel, should post a photo of it tomorrow. Yea! Then will start another one real soon.

Julie, Great job on Wedn. 30/30 and light cleaning in preparation for your Dad's birthday on Sat. Great job on last night's Get Glutes strength workout.

Take care,

Janie

This drawing is called "Embracing My Curly Hair". My nephew Abel.

Didn't go clam digging tonight, we were just to sore. LOL Maybe tomorrow.

I feel like I just left this place and I am back to work already. The weekend just flew by as always. Friday I did Cycle Max Express and laundry. Saturday I did Cardio Supersets + Step then went to my parents for my dad’s 70th birthday party. His birthday is actually today but we celebrated early. After the party, DH and I ran some errands and then back home for a few chores. Sunday was a Get Glutes strength workout and then lazy day the rest of the day.

Janie Oh I bet clams are no fun to clean but as long as they are yummy I am sure
it is worth it. Another great picture. I really love the color touches. They just pop out and really add something to the drawing!

Have a great day!

We've now turned on Multi-Quote. Here is how it works:

There is a link at the bottom of each post "+ Quote". Clicking this adds the post as Mulit-Quote. Select all the posts you want to quote, scroll down to the quick reply window, and at the bottom you will see a button "Insert Quotes". This brings up a pop-up and lets you put the quotes in the order you want and insert them into your quick reply.

In addition, you can quote multiple posts from multiple forum threads! So you can surf around for an answer to someone's questions, click the "+ Quote" link to add it, then go back to the thread you are commenting in and drop it in the reply!

I'm back! I had to include this response from SNM on my post about the multi-quote replies, but you have probably already seen it. I am using it now and very happy about it!

Janie Great job on your walk and power gardening. I really think I should start growing garlic. Wow, it sounds like you are going to have quite the nice selection of home grown goodies soon! It sounds like you got quite the workout! I'm glad that your photo uploading started to work for you since I would not have been any help there at all! That is so cool that you make your own soap and the swap program that you have going with your neighbor too! That looks like a lot of soap, so I hope you are getting a lot of eggs.

Julie Great job on your PP Friday night and At on Saturday. Isn't that always the case when you are feeling proud of your abilities that Cathe comes along and puts you in your place? I wouldn't worry about having to take some small breaks though, I think your cardio has recovered very quickly!

Janie Great job on your walks and your yoga. I wish I could figure out how to start loving yoga

Julie Great job on your GG workout. Don't you just love it when you get a good solid workout in like that in a short amount of time?! We missed the moon, but I did see some great pictures of it.

Janie I was so happy to hear that your gum graft surgery went so well! That is fantastic news that you didn't have any pain. I know you must be so relieved to have that finished too! Your drawing of Abel is fantastic, as always. I love the curly hair so I do hope he is embracing it. Oh boy, I bet your clams will be fabulous, now that you know how to cook them ;) Enjoy!

Julie Great job on 30/30 and GG. I'm right there with you feeling like I just left this place and am already back, and I was gone for a week! Man, time does fly when you are having fun :) Great job on CM and laundry max, CSS+step. Happy Birthday to your dad! I hope he had a great party. Great job on GG on Sunday too.

We had such a great vacation. It just seems like there are no words to describe how beautiful it is out there. Spectacular is the best I can do, but it doesn't seem like a strong enough word. We did a lot of hiking, starting with a 9 1/2 mile strenuous hike on Sunday down into the Grand Canyon and up. We probably were a bit more ambitious than we should have been on our first day, especially not being acclimated to the height or the time zone yet, but we did ok. We sure were tired and sore the next day. That worked out fine though because we took advantage of that to drive around to all of the scenic overlook sites near the north rim, then had a 3 hour drive to Bryce Canyon. We got there in time to drive to all of the scenic overlooks in the park to plan where we wanted to hike the next day. Tuesday was a shorter and less strenuous hike, I think we did about 5-6 miles total. That evening we drove to Zion and spent all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday hiking. Friday was our longest and probably most strenuous day with 12-13 miles total, most of that back and forth through the river fighting the current. The water was mostly not very deep, but the current was still really strong. That was my favorite day though, because the views were amazing inside the canyon. Plus I really don't like heights, so I was glad to be away from the cliffs and steep drop offs  We got home last night around 7 and this morning was SJP for me. It was really tough! I hope you have a great Monday!

Pam

"Allison" my niece. One I've been wanting to draw for a very long time.

Was on the windy beach walking this morning. Rolly and I just made it home before the rains came. Planning a yoga workout tonight.

Pam, So glad you had such a marvelous vacation and back home safely. The hike in the canyon, on the first day sounds like it might have been a little tough. Good for you. We need to visit there again and hike this time. LOL Wow, you guys love to hike. I don't blame you loving Zion park. It's so beautiful. 12-13 miles I could never do. Congratulations for going that far. It's half a marathon! Wow! Great job for doing SJP, although I don't know how you did it. You must be exhausted!

Julie, Great job on Cycle Max Express and Laundrymax. LOL Also for Sat. Cardio Supersets and Step. Glad you spent time with family and celebrated your Dad's 70th birthday. And for doing Sun. Get Glutes strength workout and rested the rest of the day.

Take care everyone,

Janie
