| Most of you have heard of DVD, but probably very few realize how DVD is
going to change and revolutionize
the video fitness industry. Just imagine being able to choose and mix your
favorite segments from any four or five Cathe videos. DVD will make it possible for you to
easily pre-select different segments from different videos and play
them in any order you like. For instance, you could choose the
warm up from Step Fit, the 1st aerobic section from PowerMax, the 2nd
aerobic section from Step Works, the 3rd aerobic section from Step Jam, the
cooldown from PowerMax and the Abs from Step Heat. |
Best Buy says DVD Sales
Surge Electronic retailer, Beat Buy, has just released fourth
quarter sales figures that show for the first time ever, DVD sales have outpaced VHS
sales. During the fourth quarter Best Buy sold 3.5 million units of DVD.
Though VHS will probably outsell DVD for 1999, Best Buy expects DVD to sell more units
in the year 2000. Therefore, they have decided to start reducing their VHS inventory and
start increasing Best Buy's DVD titles.

You can program your DVD player to make your
workout long or short. You can even try a different
combination of videos each day if you like. DVD also offers the advantage over VHS in
that it will never wear out
or degrade over time. The typical VHS tape starts to have problems only after 30 to 40
plays. DVD will also work in any country. This is not true of a VHS tape.
Currently, DVD players are selling in the $250 to $350 range. We are told that this
price will probably fall to about $150 by Christmas.
Shortly, we will start asking for your input on what Cathe workouts you would like to
see on DVD. We can get about 3 to 5 videos on one DVD disc and we
are very much interested in your comments.
We will release our first DVD disk by next Christmas
and possibly a lot sooner. |
